Just a little piece of advice. When reserving a hotel, pay the extra $20-$30 for the late cancellation option. My son was to ship out of Columbus on 8/16. We reserved a room at the Crown Plaza Columbus North in Ohio. I found out at 10:30 on 8/15 he is shipping out of Cleveland (3 hours north of Columbus). I attempted to cancel my $115.00 reservation so we could stay in Cleveland and they REFUSED to help me because I didn't pay the extra for the cancellation option. The GM in Columbus was overly rude to me. He asked me if I bought a lottery ticket at the gas station and didn't win, would I take it back and complain? I explained what my son was doing and why we were even coming there and asked for mercy and he said " Yeah, that's nice but it's not my problem now is it?" GRRRR...
I gave them a bad review online with the details. But wanted to pass this information on to you other moms.. Pay the extra $20-$30 because you never know what will happen..

Its so hard to just stay out of it when you're used to fixing everything for your son but I have had to step back and let him handle it (other than my one call to the recruiter). We are meeting him at the MEP's station today for his physical and other misc things and then the Oath of enlistment. Providing this all works out with the paperwork. He will be so upset if he has to wait to go. Thanks for your reply. Oh and I did go to Trip Advisor and post a bad review, I need to see if it posted, It was to the Crown Plaza Columbus North,
Is this his first trip to MEPS? if that is the case...he won't be leaving for months.
Not sure why you where reserving a hotel room it is the recruiter who sets up your child with a hotel room for MEPS.
