Hi ladies :)

I'm planning on moving to Great Lakes to be with my husband while he is in A school.  I'm just wondering what is the average time the live ashore chit usually takes to get approved? And also if anyone lives there or knows the area - where are the good neighborhoods to live in/what are some good apartments?

Thanks!

Hello! I live here. I live in waukegan. My husbands live ashore took about a month after he graduated bootcamp to get approved.

We live in Eagles Ridge.. we have a lot of navy neighbors here too.. which is nice. They usually give your first month free... and since you are military they wave all application fees.. and give you 500$ off.. and if you refer a friend to move here they give you 500$ off your rent. So If you decide to move here let me know.. ill give you my name and it will help us get money off of our rent... and we can be neighbors :)

If you need any help with the moving process or anything let me know! When do you plan on moving here?

those apartments look really cute! i'm coming down on saturday to go apartment hunting with my husband, and he put the chit in on monday so hopefully it gets approved really soon! thank you for the info! that is awesome that they do that for navy families!

Hoepfully the chit doesn't take long to get approved! I moved here and my husband wasn't able to move in with me immediately... but since he was phase 3 he was able to stay the night with me on the weekend! His chit got approved about a week and half after i moved here so it wasn't bad at all :)

I like our apartment complex. Do you have any pets?

If you do move here put my name Samantha Walton on the applcation form under referred by!

ALSO! i will tell you some other apartments i liked in this area..

My main reason for choosing To live at eagles ridge though is because they have a washer and dryer in the unit! The other places have 1 laundry facility to the building and you have to pay every time to use the machines! That was a big selling point to me lol. Is your husband ACEF? ET or FC?

Maybe we can meet up once you move here and get settled in! I have yet to make a Navy Wife friend here!

Goodluck :)
