Yes they are. I just got my letter today, so yours will be coming soon:)
I got my letter today tooo! My fiancee is also on ship 2 div 344.  They are scheduled for graduation on 10/14. I was soo happy to see his handwriting!
My son is also Ship 2  Div 344.  I just got my letter today too, he is scheduled to graduate 10/14. Hopefully you will get yours tomorrow. Good luck !!
Got my letter on Friday and was just as happy as you all.  Can't believe what a few lines of familiar handwriting can do for the spirit.  He says 34 is a good division:)
Do you know what the divisions mean? how they are assigned?  I hope to learn more about 344 in my SR's letters!
I believe that divisions are created based on the order they come in.  I'm reading a good book about boot camp...Honor, Courage, Commitment, Navy Boot Camp written by J.F. Leahy which was based on observations of recruits in October of 2000.  Although I expect some things have changed, it should be fairly accurate.  I've found it helpful to visualize what my son is experiencing.  When he said "good division" I took it to mean good people and leadership.  He is 28 with a strong work ethic, so I think that's what he'd base his comments on.
Thank you for the information! I will look for that book. My fiancé is 29. I'm glad there is someone there his age. We were wondering about that!!

There is a great Navy Mom's video on YouTube that shows exactly what the recuits will go thru :-)

The divs are assigned as they arrive... counting up since January 1st.  My daughter was in Div 116 back in April... and my son is Div 292 with PIR of 09/09/2011.   The 800 division numbers are for special ops.  The 900 series divisions are for the performers, such as Band, Color Guard, etc.

Patricia,
Thank you so much for the utube video!!!!  It gave us a exactly what we needed--to actually see what we've only been imagining.  Fear of the unknown is a terrible thing.  I feel soooo much better!  That video should be on the home page of this website.  If you hadn't put it in my group I probably wouldn't have seen it.  Again, I am so grateful to you and to everyone in Navy for Moms.
Your welcome :-)  I didnt find it until my daughter was half way thru boot camp.  I was so thrilled to find it, and it put my mind at ease.  But when I shared it with my son (who was still in DEP at that point), he told me he had seen it at the recruiters office  GRRR  The DEPPers had seen it!!  It would have been great had they alerted the parents to that video  LOL
where can you get the book at?
