OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

SHIP 04, DIV 820 and DIV 821 Brother divisions....
This discussion is for those who have an SR in Ship 04, DIV 820 and 821, PIR 10/14/11. These are brother divisions and will be spending a lot of time together from what I understand. Remember OPSEC rules and for security purposes...no pictures of your SR or names of SR. God bless you all!

My son is in 821 also--Hi fellow moms!!! I'm keeping all our boys in my prayers every day...we have some incredible people that we raised and I know we are all very proud!!!

No letter for us either:/ but we are about as far west of Illinois as possible. Oh well, if it's anything like the sheer joy of his form letter 'note', it'll be worth the wait!! I'm still a bit unclear about something. If they are pretty sure that they're staying at GL after PIR, is that what's considered their A school? I'm just trying to get a clearer picture of what to expect. My daughters ARE getting to come too, but one has to fly back Friday late afternoon. Does that mean she'd only get a quick hello to him because he could be busy til she leaves? Argh:) Does anyone know how long PIR goes until? I read that it started at 9am. Thanks All!!

No letter for us either. I was told don't expect before week 3, so I am thinking perhaps div 820 was rewarded. Yes, I too will be sending the team work letter! My SR told me, he would be staying at GL for ahwile. He has friends who stayed for Seal prep and did get liberty for the weekend, but only during the day Fri/Sat/Sun. We are planning to stay the weekend. Only 44 more wake-ups!

I don't know if 820 was rewarded or not, but in their "free" time that they have to write letters, etc., they have to iron, etc, or whatever they need to do to get their racks ready for inspection. So it probably depends on a lot of things. He said he was worried he wouldn't get to write, because of other things he had to do in free time, so just know that they all are wanting to write. Hang in there for the letters. I KNOW from the sound of my SR's letter that he almost didn't have time to write one. It may take some longer to get into the routine of things, but they will! It is awesome just to see their handwriting and know they are still alive....Just trust that they want nothing more than to write letters to all the people that they love, but there is only so much time. As long as we keep encouraging them in our letters to keep up the good work and work as a team, we will get to hear from them!
We are staying the weekend as well in hopes of him getting to spend even parts of the days with us! It will be so good to see them, won't it?

I also heard back from the veteran mom and she said that yes, you can hug your SR and as for kissing , a peck. She said that they just want it to be respectful, if that makes sense. She said there will be lots of picture taking etc. I hope this helps. And hang in there for the letter...it will come. I know they are all wanting to write but I think the first few weeks it's about getting your stuff done before you can do it, not sure, but that is what is sounds like.

Merida K... don't feel bad, I kept walking to the mailbox 3 times in 2 hours thinking the mail was just "late" today, HA! I am praying for my letter tomorrow...just heard that his girl "friend" got a letter today and she lives in California (me AZ) so she is further away! But she did give me a sneak-peak into how he is doing which helped! Hang in there, we'll all get through this and down the road, we will all look back at this time and laugh! Making great memories, right? Proud of our 800/821 division boys, can't wait to see them and meet you all!

Beyond THRILLED that i got a letter from my SR today!!! From the tone of the letter, i don't believe they had too much time to get them out! He wrote his GF and myself and asked that i pass along messages to the rest of the family. So, I think he only had time to get out two letters in the time allotted. In any case, i'm sure as time allows, more letters will be coming. Hang on you guys, they are coming!! :o)
