This discussion is for those who have an SR in Ship 04, DIV 820 and 821,  PIR 10/14/11.   These are brother divisions and will be spending a lot of time together from what I understand.  Remember OPSEC rules and for security purposes...no pictures of your SR or names of SR.  God bless you all!

All of our calls came from 847 when my son was in BC. Hang in there. Usually there is a call the end of week three or the first couple days of week four.

The weekend of PIR our son wanted a hot shower by himself! (45 min long!) , To hang out in the hotel,  text/ call his friends, and eat. We did go the the mall for a couple movies and bought him some good running shoes for pre-buds.  Don't make plans, just see what they are in the mood for. I know some went to the Navy Pier and others went into Chicago, but they all want the shower and good food! : )

Thank you so much!!!
TexasSailorMom - I just wanted to thank you for bring on here to help the SPECOPS families out! FTLW
Did you get to spend any time on the weekend with him after graduation? Or do they grad and go across  the street for prebuds? We are curious about how much time we may get with him that weekend, should we stay until Monday or head back before? Thank you for you help.

If they are staying in GL they will move over after PIR (we did get to go over to the NEX for a few minutes b4 he had to report back to get his stuff packed up)and then they call to be picked up. For us it was around 2:30, others it was 5:00, then they had to be back by 8 or 9. On Sat. and Sun they have from 8-8. They can't be late getting back or they will lose their liberty the rest of the weekend.

It is different for those that are Air Rescue as they don't stay in GL.

Thank you TexasSailorMom.Great help and good news

Welcome Laura and Lisa, glad to have you in the discussion.  Just a reminder to remember OPSEC rules (I feel like I am a recording, and apologize for that) and for the safety of our SRs, (the spec op divisions, esp.) no pictures of your SR or last names.  I know it's all so new to all of us, and we feel as though we aren't proud of our boys, but it really is for their safety.  Feel free to friend others and private messages aren't public, so it's easier to talk about certain things.  I am new to this as well, but there are some veteran moms on the sight who are amazing and kind enough to answer questions if any come up.  So if I don't know, we will find out!

As far as the area code to look for I am not sure, but others have said it will probably be the 847, I believe.  But that doesn't mean it will be, for sure.  To be on the safe side, I am answering anything that looks like it could be from that area and if I am not sure, I answer it.  Sorry, I can't help more on that one.  Then when I leave, I forward house calls to my cell, so I don't miss it.  I know, no news is good news, but it will be so good to hear their voices, won't it?

Hope I get to meet you all at PIR!  Take care and God bless our SRs...and you all!

Just a question...I thought I deleted my picture..is it showing when I do these messages?  I don't want to break any rules for sure!  I totally understand the need for that one!
It's showing dear.
Do you need a walk through on how to change it? Let is know and we will help.
yes please!!!

Okay...

You'll actually have to choose a new photo from stored ones on the Picture Library on your Computer. You can't delete your photo completely.

See at the top right where your username is in the blue bar? Right underneath is where you sign out. At the bottom of that list is the "settings" tab. Click it. It will take you to your Profile page.

The very first thing you will see at the top is your current photo. Click "Browse", it should bring up Libraries from your computer. Click Pictures from your Libraries computer and Left click a new photo that you have stored there. It should enter it into the File name bar. Click "Open" and wait for it to load in. Go down to the bottom of the page and click "Save".

Dont forget trivia question tomorrow at 10am central time on facebook U.S. Navy Recruit Training Command.  The answer will be something found on the website http://www.bootcamp.navy.mil/.  I have asked our Navy family and friends to help us play.  Winner gets picture of their SR's division!  Let's play and win!!
