For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Sailor had to report to San Diego today.{rules when living in barracks}
My Sailor had to report to San Diego today after a 4 day weekend we got to spend togetther. I'm trying to be strong and not be so sad but i did not want for him to go. He will be living in barracks since we are not married and our baby girl is not here yet. My question is will he be able to have his cell phone with him? I heard that there would be emailing but I dont see why he would not be able to have his cell. I understand he cant have it when he has to work but I'd imagine when he is off that he would be able to have his phone. What makes single sailors differnt from married sailors when it comes to freedom? Some one please help me.

His off time from work belongs to him basically and yes he can have his cell phone.

There is no difference, he is a Sailor....he can do what he wants. BUT as long as he lives in the barracks he MUST follow their rules....which he needs to ask what they are if they are not told to him.
He can have his cell phone on him off working and none duty hours.
If he wants to move out in town and pay out of pokect for a place he can do it.

Thanks so much to the both of you. I was just concerned with not knowing whether or not he would be able to have his cell phone. That makes me feel so much better. :)
