Most people who have "A" school out of state leave that day after PIR, really earlly in the morning.
that is what i thought but just needed back up on it. so i guess we wont need the hotel for saturday night. thank you angie.
you do get sometime after graduation with the new sailor right?
thank you great to know about the back pack
nope...don't go buying a backpack, the USN started giving out backpacks to new Sailors.  So that would mean your Sailor would end up with two backpacks and they are only allowed one carry on.
thanks Angie. no back pack got it.
Depends on his orders.  My son is graduating in two days and he told us he will have all of Friday after graduation to spend with us until he reports back to base, then he leaves for the airport at 2:30 in the morning to head to Texas for "A" school.

THANKS FOR THE INFO CDIXON I GUESS I WILL PLAN ON FRIDAY AND THAT IS IT.CONGRATULATIONS  ON YOUR SON.

My son also graduates Oct 21,2011  and will be leaving for A school in Dam Neck. He told me he will know when just before graduation. My two nephews recently graduated. One had to leave immediately and the other who went to San Diego got to spend the whole weekend with his parents. I have booked my flight and hotel till sunday just in case. I am traveling from Florida. I want every moment I can get with my son.

i booked my hotel just in case also. thanks for your input.
