my sr has been gone since august 15th and still no call....praying to hear his voice!
Just made reservations @ Navy Lodge for 2 nights, @ $65 night.  I need to check out the Google map of the area to get familiar with it.  I'm quite familiar with the Lake Forest area (just south), most of downtown, and the South Side/Hyde Park area of Chicago.  Thought I'd pass that along.
Ok.  I talked to my SR's girlfriend this morning, and it turns out that it wasn't a call from him that she missed the other day.  So...back to the waiting for the call.  :-/

Woo Hoo, just got off the phone with my SR, had about 30 minutes with him, and I was nice enough to share a few with his older brother...only a few though..lol.

He sounded so good and is still glad he joined so that's good news !!!!....he said they were all in a room together, so I'm hoping everyone got to talk to their SR's, and if not yet then very soon.!!!

Hang in there ladies, we're almost half way there :)

My S was able to call his girlfriend, too!!  She doesn't have a last class of the day, and when she saw the area code (847 for those looking for it) she was able to answer right away!!  :-)  A little concerned that he's still saying his graduation date could change based on tests, but keeping a hopeful mind and crossed fingers!!
Me too!!!! I got a call at the grocery store! I sat in the pharmacy and talked to him for a really long time. I was surprised that they let them talk that long. It was great!! They were all there, I hope everyone was available. We're getting there ladies! They're ready for it to be over too.
We are half way done!!! It made me more excited to want to see her. 31 days ladies. I was driving to the store, I was driving and did not pay attention to the number and just said hello. She said hi mom, and I was so shocked. It was awesome.
I wonder how many moms in our division aren't aware of this website. Maybe we should mention that to our SRs.
I told mine today when she called, but she knew I was on it before she left.  I see a lot of moms are on  facebook on the U.S. Navy Recruit Training Command
I'm on FB in that group.  My husband told me about it.  I think he was on it before my SR left for GL.
I heard from my SR too!!! 30 wonderful minutes. I couldn't believe it!  So wonderful to hear his voice!

I got out of a meeting to see a missed call from area code 847. I was crushed. Then 10 minutes later my SR called again and I got to talk to her! She sounded good, really good. Confident that she was going to finish on time, and pretty happy. It was a pretty quick phone call, maybe 5 minutes or so and then there were people telling her to get off the phone. She said that everyone got to make a call yesterday, week 2 day 5.
