My son left for BC on Sept 12th. Does anyone have a son or daughter that left that day? I am wondering about when the PIR will be? Anyone know? I miss my son so much already.

You should be or already have gotten a form letter from your son that says when PIR will be. This is a rough road for the both of you. My son PIRed September 9th. It was hard having him in boot camp and not knowing what was going on. Just remember that it will be over sooner then you think.
Hi judbamam, soon you wil receive your form letter and it will have the PIR date on it as well as your SR ship and division and address. It will have all of the info about boot camp on it. Write lots of letters a voice from home really helps the SR's with the transition from civilian to Sailor. This is an incredible journey and it's going to be very hard at first, but as soon as you get that first written letter from your SR time will start to move faster, but it will take about 3 weeks before you get an actual letter, they are busy the first few weeks. We are all here for you!

Hi.  My son left for bootcamp LAST YEAR on Sept. 13.  Just had his one year anniversary.  His PIR was Nov. 5, but he was in a PUSH division, which means his was almost the last division to fill up so they got pushed throught a little faster than the others with the same PIR date.  You should expect it to be probably the first or second Friday of November, but that will just depend on if he's in one of the first divisions who ends up having to wait for the others to fill.  Many variables.  You should get the form letter next week.

I know it's hard.  Believe me.  Once he gets to A school though, you will feel a bit better as he settles in to the routine, and you will be able to talk to him and message with him.  My son is still at Nuke school in South Carolina and will be there for probably another year and a half, unless he gets sent up to NY for his last school.  Most of the A schools step down for 2 weeks over the holidays, so hopefully your son will be able to come home during that time.

Best of luck to you and to him.

I would guess Nov 4th based on what I have seen but that is just my opinion.  I know it is so hard waiting (I am not a patient person either) on the form letter but hang in there!  Everyones experience is different but my son left on the Tuesday the 6th, I received his box on Friday the 9th and his form letter on Monday the 12th.

Hi, My daughters boyfriend left for boot camp on the same day. His pir is dated for Nov 4th
