Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Hang in there spontino and johnnasuzanne, it maybe that your SR is on duty (found out that is a 2 hour shift) so maybe you will get a call tonight or tomorrow. I will be praying for you both!!!

It is amazing how differnt my SR sounded on the phone, I can't really put my finger on why, but sounded "older". We talked for 18 min. we heard someone in the background say something really loud, so we thought he had to go, so we wrapped up the call and said we love you. After reading some of your calls, maybe he was just saluting someone one, we did not think to say "do you have to go"...UGH!!! Our SR also called the house phone and left a voice mail message a funny one at that - he said he called so that we could hear his voice whenever we wanted, does he know his mom or what?? Glad he thought of that one....I told everyone in the house DO NOT DELETE the message.
SR said the division is doing good together, he said inspections were going good, with exception of one...but that was something they would work out. He sounded really positive and said he had made a few friends. He said they really don't get to talk much to each other, but that he has an all male division. He said the guys are great and that they are really been working together as a team. Said they work out every day, he said he has to work on marching and running but everyone is working together. He said he thought the whole division did well on their "first" test, so maybe they would win a flag soon. Said they do things with their brother division alot. All in all he sounded great and it was so good to hear from him. My SR wasn't for sure what training week/day he was on, maybe end of week 2 or beginning of week 3 he said. I can't wait to hear how everyone's calls/letters are this week. ANY NEWS IS GOOD NEWS!!
Praying everyone in 9/360 will have calls soon.... I know how hard it was seeing other post last night when others were getting calls, so ladies you are in my prayers!!

Got a call this afternoon. He called home first and talked to his dad, brother and girlfriend. His dad called me from his cell phone to give me the heads up that he wold be callng me at work too!!! I wouldn't let anyone else answer the phone after that. He sounded really good and seems like its going really well. Can't wait to see him on 10/28/2011.

got several pages in letters today!! made up for the no phone call yesterday :/ he wrote that he thought they would get one on tuesday so who knows...maybe he had duty. maybe i'll hear from hear later this week. the letters helped immensely. he had to have a wisdom tooth pulled. he sounded incredibly good, seemed like their division is really starting to pull together. he said the RDCs are tough but it is only making them stronger. good things are happening there...i can feel it :) still hoping for a call, hoping everyone gets news of some sort too whether letters or calls!

that sounds like what my son told me yesterday...I'm glad to know they are all feeling the same about their division. I'm hoping for a letter tomorrow...ours came on Thursday last week. Hope you get your call soon.

I haven't written before, but I have been following the conversation. Thank you all so much for sharing your thoughts, feelings, and what you have learned about our sons shared experience. It is so good to hear about the positive feelings in the division! My son mentioned in the phone call yesterday that their division had earned an academic flag. The most curious thing I heard was that they had to take turns getting up in the night to shave and do their ironing.

Genie...what is your son's ship/division? How exciting that they have won an academic flag. Thanks for sharing your story with all of us. I know our phone call and letters are like GOLD! So appreciate hearing what the SRs of our division have to say as we can all be excited together for their accomplishments, plus gives us insight on what is going on if we have not gotten a letter, etc.

Thank you! I totally agree with you in that we can put together more pieces of the experience when we get different parts of the story from each other. He is a 9/360 too. Did you see on another page that a mom said her son had said that their "brother DIV was really organized and just had their stuff together when they needed it the most"? That brother DIV is our guys!

I saw that comment too; I actually put in into my latest letter to my son because I thought it might motivate him. I also like to hear what your sons say since I get info mine doesn't give me. My last letter was very positive; he misses his little brother, though. And his dog. Some days I wish he could have the dog! He said that he's made a lot of friends since they are allowed to talk some now; that there is a great deal of diversity. They all seem to be in agreement that they are working together very well, but I didn't know about the flag. Can't believe it's only 4 weeks!
