For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

This discussion is for those who have an SR in Ship 04, DIV 820 and 821, PIR 10/14/11. These are brother divisions and will be spending a lot of time together from what I understand. Remember OPSEC rules and for security purposes...no pictures of your SR or names of SR. God bless you all!

Thank you ladies for the prayers. I don't know what I'll do if he isn't allowed to do his swim and can't PIR. There is no possible way we can go to his PIR if it's changed. We used up every resource to fly four of us there. I am just heartsick at the thought. I don't understand why they don't disenfect eveything, maybe they too. Just a sad and fearfull momma right now. He's had fevers, congestion, daily bloody noses, and his ear was so bad, he said he just tried to not move. This is from a kid who never got sick, not even once a year, really. Somehow, he's also hearing that if you get injured in bc they just kick you out altogether and I don't know if that's true but he said he could use some prayers for his knee in both of his last two letters. Thanks for letting me pour my heart out this morning and thank you so much for the prayers. That means everything today to me and is my only hope, as I'm a little too distressed to pray at the moment.

Anne, I agree with BlueBetty. I have no doubt they will try everything possible to get our boys to graduate on time and she is so right when she says that warrior moms praying ARE powerful. And God knows our prayers and what is on our heart even when we feel like we don't know what to say or pray. I called my husband at work and asked him to pray for the boys, too. That's what we are here for, to support each other through thick and thin! We may not be at Great Lakes together as a team, but as a team we can pray for our boys and each other!

I am sure that letter was a hard one to read- I dont know if it is exactly relevant to your son's situation- but a mom asked on the RTC Facebook page about her son as he did not pass a test he needed to pass. and this was their response (BELOW my yabbering) . Also I believe the PST is separate from regular boot camp testing- a friend's son did not pass the PST and he still PIRd but did not go to BUDS prep- he was able to select another job (she said he was offered SWCC but was so frustrated with himself he declined)
Injuries must be fairly common and my husband even said they would all get sick- (he was in boot camp in 1985) : On another note- we are just 3-4 hours north of Great Lakes and plan to try to make at least a few trips there during buds prep etc as possible and as my son wants- so if you need anything brought to him- or him checked on or for just another mom to lay eyes on him friend request me and we can share more information. Stay strong- many many prayers going out for all these men (boys to us still) . and oh yeah RTCs response:
"He has been placed into the FIT Division where instructors work solely ...with them in trying to help them pass their test. This division is for those who have failed their 1.5-mile run or swim test.
If he doesn't pass his test this week, then he will not graduate. Once he does pass, he will not participate in a ceremony, rather, he will go directly on to his A School so as to not further his training any further." -

hey ladies. Just got the mail. A two line note. My son got the virus and is a GRAD-TO-GO. I am not surprise. I am prepared for the unexpected, just as long as I Can see him graduate. If that does'nt happen, well Anne says it all. I continue to pray for them all back to health.

Hi! I am new to this website. My son is a part of this division as well. We miss him terribly. He is suppose to be able to call home again soon, axiously waiting. I am computer iliterate, how do I find the RTC facebook page?

When on facebook search for "U.S. Navy Recruit Training Command". Becareful the pictures can make you cry ;) Every week they post that graduation picture of the door opening and you see the recruits legs marching as the door slowly opens. I cry like a BABY! Only one more week to endure then we get to see our SR's coming in behind that door. I will be the one in the audience doing the ugly cry - very loudly.

BlueBetty...You made me cry and laugh! But I know what you mean, I see those legs and I want to run over, throw up the door and see our kids! :) I get teary eyed as well thinking about seeing them coming through those doors.
Squat...welcome to the group. A lot of us are technotards...borrowing someone else's term, which I love! So someone usually knows how to figure it out.
Less than 2 weeks, praying that they all get and stay healthy! AMEN!
