I am so sorry for you and your daughter. I hope it's something that will just run its course and she'll be fine for the hardest part. She still has time. But it is very sad that she is sick at all. My son went in with a fever and I was so worried. I told his recruiter and he said that they would take care of him and they did.
I can't speak from personal experience, but in the book I mentioned early on, Honor, Courage, Commitment, Navy Boot Camp , the author spoke about the "Ricky Crud" and how everyone was somewhat sick all of the time!  I confirmed this with my SR and he said it's true, but the medical care was quite good there.
where can I get that book at?
sorry to hear about your daughter, as everyone else had said, I will be sending my thoughts and prayers your way.  My SR was sick as well.  He reluctantly told me he was when we got to hear from them over the phone a few weeks back.  He didn't want me to worry, and told me that a lot of them had been sick because there are just so many of them there at one time.  Germs spread really quickly! I'm assuming he got better since there has been no mention of it since. I hope your SR gets well soon!

Please don't take this as gloating, but found out from my SR's sister that he got a ribbon in Marksmanship the other day.  To say I'm proud of him is an understatement.  He's been writing his gf as often as he can.  We had her over for a visit and supper last night.  It was sooo good to see her and catch up and just chat.  We're lucky that we get along with his gf, as I know there are lots of families in the same situation who don't.

We're getting close, Moms/girlfriends/wives!!  :-)

Congrats to your SR and you! That's great. In my SR's last letter she was hoping she would win a marksmanship ribbon, but hadn't yet heard.

MandySue, Congratulations on the ribbon, thats great. So proud of all our kids, and hoping for another call soon, now I'm afraid to leave the house again !!!

Not long to wait now and we just booked our flights last night.... I'm so excited !!!!

Are you guys flying in earlier or later in the day?  I'm thinking we'll be checking in to Navy Lodge around 3, since that's when checkin starts.  Still haven't decided if we're going to the Meet 'n Greet...still some time to decide, though.  Ooohhh...gotta order my ribbons tomorrow!  *just remembered*

MandySue, We land at O'Hare around 5.40pm, we used our air miles so couldn't get an earlier flight, I was hoping to make it to the Meet & Greet, but it doesn't look like we will, at least not for long. Just depends on traffic and how we feel etc.

Hope to see everyone, so fingers crossed !!!!

Thank you to everyone here for all you support, you all are amazing. It really helped me get through the week, knowing that others moms understand. We are so close now!  BTW, I got another letter & my SR sounds much better. 12 days ladies :)

Glad to hear that!!  :-)
