Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Ship 12, Div 369

Yippeee!!!! I've created this group. I'm so proud of myself. And I'm SOOOOOOOO happy that I got my son's address today. It's day 4 since he left for BC and his recruiter called me with it this morning. I can't wait to "meet" all of you!

Navy Mom Janet - we had a similar experience when I went up to see my other son graduate in Aug, there were over a dozen families on our flight to Chicago..didn't realize how small the world was until then :) It was a very exciting trip up, everyone was pumped..a little somber on the way back :(

My only complaint about the Ramada was the shuttle leaving late, but there are half the divisions graduating this time than my first son. However, I learned lots of lessons last time, one was to book the rental car before getting to the airport,

We are trying to coordinate a road trip when my other son gets leave from his A schools...prob around December ..may be the last time my sailor boys (men) will be together ...who knows where they will be stationed!

I heard if they graduate on the 10th they will leave for Pensacola on the 11th so you will have the evening to spend with your sailor. That is more than what I got with my middle son. He was considered a grad and go. I got 15 minutes on base and got to spend 2 hours at the airport until he left. I drove 12 hours to see him 2 hours and 15 minutes. It will be nice to take my sailor to dinner. I believe they will need to be back on base no later than 9 p.m.

Hi everyone! I am so excited to finally be able to talk to other family members w/the same ship and division as my husband. Although I am not a Navy Mom, I was invited by some of the Navy Mom's that I met through the RTC facebook page. I am thrilled so far as to what is available on this site. It makes my life easier being new to all of this. Since we are married I usually relay all messages and important stuff to my mother-in-law and sometimes I don't know the answers. LOL! If you have any advice on where to stay or things to help us be more prepared for PIR please let me know. I did get a call from my husband this evening because the RTC didn't have all the documents related to our marriage. He said he has received the letters I sent Monday and Tuesday just to give you all an idea on the time frame.

Hi NavyWife, I'm glad you finally made it. I didn't think you'd ever get the approval. We can talk here instead of on FB. It's great to know that your husband and my son are together. There's so much for you to learn so ask questions....none are silly or stupid. There's always someone here who'll know the answer. You can always PM (private message) me if you want to talk. I'm not on FB that much but I'm addicted to this site.

I received my first letter today. She said she was almost done with her P-days. Does anyone know when they get their letters. I have sent one every day. Maybe they can get mail after p-days? I don't know. She mentioned the Peanut Butter shot. Does anyone know what that is? Oh Boy this is really hard.

Hi missmysailor - They do start getting their mail after P-Days. They get mail every day except for Sunday and they can only write back on Sundays. The Peanut Butter shot hurts....from what they say. It's several different vaccines in one big shot in the butt. Ouch!

My SR called me today. He said that ship 12 Div 369 got 3 demerits yesterday and one hour of IT intensive training instead of one hour of liberty (free time) due to recruits not listening and talking when not spoken to. There is 50% who really want to do well and 50% feel they are attending summer camp. After IT they were back to talking again. They were told that if they don't get their act together they will be there until after Thanksgiving. It is really discouraging to the 50% who are obeying the rules and want to do good. I already have an older son in the Navy and to the moms who are new to this life the Navy doesn't fool around. The Navy will get what they want no matter how long it will take. Please encourage your SR to do their best and obey the rules.

wooo that is not good...I know for one my son does not like it when they don't do what they are supposed to. He told me in his letter, they won't even follow simple directions. That leader has his job cut out for him!

Yes that is what my daughter said. She said that she spends her time with 3/4 girls and that there are some girls that just won't keep their mouths shut. I'm sure it won't take long for the ones that are working to convince the non workers to work. I think they rely on peer pressure to get them straight.
