Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Christmas on the USS INGRAHAM
Moms are you ready to start Christmas shopping????
Our adoption for October is the USS Ingraham. There are 201 sailors serving aboard this frigate -
191 males and 10 females (all officers). As we all know it is very difficult to be away from your family during the holidays so after speaking with our contact we have decided to brighten up these sailors holidays by helping them celebrate Christmas.
We can send Christmas decorations such as small trees, battery powered lights and wall decorations.
I would like to see each of them receive a small stocking (6") filled with candy or small items and a candy cane for Christmas morning in addition to our other packages. What do you ladies think?
They requested very few things but could use sunscreen and lip balm since the weather is hot where they are deployed. Microwavable meals would be a big hit with the crew also. Most of them are into games, movies and sports and could use some new items to pass around.
The Captain is onboard with anything that will boost the morale on her ship and they are grateful for the support from home and will appreciate anything we do for them. They enjoy seeing the smiles on the faces of the sailors when they receive mail and care packages from home.
Since this is a small group could we get enough of the small Priority boxes filled so that every sailor onboard would have a box to open for Christmas plus a pillowcase and a Christmas card?

The shipping dates will be October 21 - 26 and the address is posted in MAS We Ship Love and mark the boxes "Christmas" or we could write "Don't Open Until Christmas".

I've got 3 little itty bitty trees--hope I can find them. Would candy canes get sticky in the heat? Do we need to provide for any Hanukah or Kwanza? Somehow I got free subscription to Field and Stream, and will put my two new ones in when I pack my pillowcases.

Hmmmm, I saw a SHE for our captain, I think this is a first for MAS. I can't wait to go do some early shopping. I will post in WSL right now and from what I see, some moms have already pledged cases!! Excellent!

I say send all the holidays! Then they can all share in their own traditions. Susan, do you still have the Christmas stories/memories? That would be nice to share again I think.

I will be celebrating Christmas with my sailor when he comes home at the end of this month so I will already be getting into the holiday spirit :)
So are we going to send a stocking and a gift box? I think the more the merrier!

Carol I am like Nancy I think we should send a little for all of the holidays so that everyone is covered.
Yes Nancy the captain is a female and all of the other females on board are officers. That is pretty exciting to have a female captain.
Kim I would love for us to send a gift box and a small stocking for each sailor on board. How fun for Christmas to come early at your house. I bet Addie will be excited.

Yes, we will celebrate Thanksgiving, Christmas and Addie's 3rd birthday. Ethan hasn't been here for any of her birthdays yet. He left for his first duty station on her 1st one. They are just days in the year. We celebrate whenever we get the chance. It's all about the family time. That is why supporting these that are deployed is soooo important! They are missing all of these too! I will be working on getting my stuff together for this group!

A friend called and she had some Christmas decorations that she bought and wasn't going to use and wanted to know if I could use them for this project. The perfect items to send to our group. She has given me the following items.
