You and me both.  I feel so proud.....course she always makes me feel that way, but I was worried about her being out of her element.  Looks like she'll be fine!

RCP"O"? = recruit chief petty officer =  the chick in charge of everybody and the one that gets in trouble the most if they screw up...lol

I was EPO when I went through, which had its perks, but if someone failed and went to IT, I had to go too...grrrr!

Hmm....not the chick in charge so...I went on the RTC website, because I had seen explanation of the different RPO's and I think my daughter wrote it incorrectly (or I can't read her handwriting).  She was going to be a RPO3 - and assist the chaplain, but I believe ended up being a RPO1 - Yeoman as she said she will be doing clerical work.

Either way, sounded very upbeat (except for being irritated and the gals who can't be quiet and behave).  I totally had to laugh when she was talking about how she was working at having the best rack (that's what they call the beds and storage, right?) because I know how her room has always looked - and still looks for that matter.  But very proud that she is taking everything to heart and doing her best to do her best.

She also mentioned that Ship 3/Div 368 is the sister division and that she loves her RDC's (?).  Says they were tough, but fair and one is really funny.  Says she has trouble sometimes not laughing.  So glad to see she is doing well.

Nicest rack...a little double entendre there...that's too funny! Yes, her rack is her bunk.

From my experience, yeoman is a good thing because it allowed you to sit in the office and avoid some of the cleaning duties, plus you got to go outside and do business trips around base for stuff away from the company.

It's funny that everyone her has been complaining about the noisy ones!

I had my daughter clean up her room and pack most of it in boxes. We did it together and I think it helped her transition.

Yeah, the rack  comment was kinda funny.  I'm hoping she is enjoying the job.   I was amazed at how happy she sounded.  I guess that might sound bad, but I thought there might be more of an adjustment.  Very happy, though, that she sounds happy.

I cannot wait until we see her again.  Still working on the money for the plane tickets.  We are a larger family, so plane tickets alone are more than $2K.  Wish we still lived in Ohio so we could drive.

Just tell her she owes you back some of that nuke bonus...lol!

We live in Texas and will be driving!  :-)

My daughter decided to pack her room up as well.  THAT was very hard for me to see and still is everytime I go back there.  She is adjusting to all of this much easier than mom here is!  I had a very weepy day yesterday for some reason.

Elizabeth

I've not been really sad at all. When I was like 9 or 10, my brother and sister were both in the navy and coming back and forth on leave. I can remember when they'd come home and I'd be all happy that I they could play with me. But then, all they'd do was sleep. Then I was sad that they would leave and I'd sit under the pool table in the basement and pout for a day or two.

With my daughter, I don't have the knots in my stomach or the pain of heartache. Maybe I'm just really happy for her since she's doing what she wants. Maybe, it's because she's basically just down the street from home since she hasn't traveled very far. Having gone through Great Lakes myself there is not that air of mystery surrounding the place either.

I am anxiously waiting the next letter or a phone call, though!

I'm not sad that she is in the Navy.  I'm so very happy for her and very very proud, I just really miss her at times :-)

I am proud of my daughter's decision, I miss her we did a lot together.  I missed her this week because I did not have anyone to talk to while getting my nails and pedicure done, that is normally something we do together.  We are from Maryland, I have not decided if I am going to fly or drive.

TODAY IS TRIVIA TUESDAY!!!!!!

Log onto Facebook:

U.S. Navy Recruit Training Command

Each Tuesday at 10 a.m. Central Time, we will post a trivia question. The answer will be able to be found on our website at www.bootcamp.navy.mil.

The first person to answer the question correctly will be declared the winner. For their reward, we will post a photo of the division of their choice.

Here are some rules:

1) The answer must be posted within the same string/thread that the question was posted. Do not post the answer separately on our page as those answers will be disqualified and deleted. Only answers included in the string/thread that the question was posted will be considered.

2) The answer must be spelled correctly and be exact. For example: If the answer is the name of a ship, such as USS ARIZONA, then that's exactly what needs to be typed. If someone answers just Arizona, that will be incorrect. All ships must include the USS in front of them.

3) If a winner is from the same division as a previous winner's, it's still valid and we still shoot another photo of the same division in a different setting. While that might not seem fair to others wishing they could see their division's photos, we will not penalize a winner merely because someone from that same division previously won. If a division has loved ones who are quick with the answers, then so be it. They will still be rewarded.

If necessary, we will add to the rules if any further issues arise.

So, study up on the website and prepared each Tuesday at 10 a.m. for a chance to see your recruit!
