For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

I sent Christy1014 and NavyMom friend requests. Let me know if you got them. I got a letter from my son yesterday it wasn't very long and did not mention BS. He had written it last Tuesday. Hoping to get one tomorrow or Thursday.

I received letter yesterday also! Was short & sweet. Said they finished live fire training. Starting to practice graduation. She drew a picture of where she would be standing @ PIR. Didn't mention when BS scheduled.

I got a letter yesterday too. Like 4 pages long!! Said he finished live fire as well and earned a Sharpshooter ribbon. Not sure exactly what it means but it must be something. He said he would be in the back for PIR because he is tall. Still hasn't mentioned a date for BS. I am ready for Thursday (that is when I get the letter he wrote on Sunday).

Hey I know this sounds stupid but can you tell me what they do at the battlestations? My daughter is in this group and I was wondering. She never likes to worry us. Can you give me some hints to how you get on the facebook page everyone is talking about so I can see the pictures? Thank you so much. I am staying at the Residence Inn for the graduation. So far my daughter says she likes it alot. I am hoping she just doesn't want us to worry.

Hi Granny- We are staying at Residence Inn also. Is your daughter going to San Antonio? My daughter is also.
The new sailors have to be back to base fairly early on Friday. From what I understand, The Navy only makes 1 trip to airport. So, sailors may get to airport @ 3AM but flight not until hours later.
Our flight is a 2PM, plan to get to airport very early in order to sit/visit/wait with her. We can give her cell phone there too!
Battlestations is the final test. Recruit then becomes sailor. It's a simulator ship that recruit uses everything they learn.

Am really stressing!!!!! My son says I might not get to talk to him unless I go to airport at 0300. If they fly out of O'Hare at 0300 will they not get to at least say hello to family? We are driving up from SC and I am scared that I won't even get to talk to my baby. Maybe I am having to hard of a time letting him grow up but lord knows I need to at least hug him before he goes.

I feel your pain. I don't know anything. Each time she writes me its we might have to fly to San Antonia at once.
We might leave early Saturday. She doesn't seem to know anything and I have only had one short phone call.
It does make a parent crazy. I am having a hard time with the letting go thing too. This nine weeks is a shock to
the system for sure!
