Someone had posted that a MeetnGreet would be held for the Oct 7 PIR at the Sundance Saloon (very near the hotels) place to eat and drink I presume. The sarge( who was so highly recommended as the taxi driver everyone would want because he is so personable and in the know, retired military) and a friend who probably owns the restaurant are going to hold this for the first time for one in the Sundance Saloon. It was said he would have lots of info about sites to see, PIR info for the next day, etc. etc.  unlike Ramada Inn that does not pass out/give out info, funny stories, whatever.  I think Wanda G posted about this first meeting. Don't know if it will be hosted again by the SS for the 10/21 group. This is the phone number for Sarge's taxi

847-212-0246 if someone wants to inquire when it gets closer to our PIR date. For the 10/7 group it will be held from 7 til closing. Somehow connected with the Veterans' Transportation Network and shuttles will run to and from several of the hotels/saloon. Said it was very western attire, DJ, and can dance. It is located in the Fountain Square Shopping Center.

Um... that would be so awesome.  Our hotel is in the Fountain Square Center.  And I heard the Ramada is a bit stinky...LOL (not sure if it is true haha)  But the best part would be to get good information!!

Good evening everyone, I wanted to let you know that all the ribbons for this DIV that have been paid for as of yesterday have all been shipped. If anyone else would like to order some ribbons to wear to PIR just click on my name and send me a friend request or send me a message to: uniquememorymakers@yahoo.com   I will be sending more ribbons early next week as I receive the payments. You can see more pics on my page here on N4M's or on my facebook page. Hey there 349ers - how is everyone doing?  The end of BC is near...  What are everyones plans during Liberty?

Hi!  Counting down!  My son called his fiancee today, so I heard the 349'ers (that's good!) had earned a 3-hour R and R today and that they're the top group (not sureif I have the wording right) and will graduate with "Honors"?!?!  So proud of them!  My son also told his fiancee that they will get to make another call either Thursday or Friday.  She said he sounded upbeat!

We are staying one night in Libertyville (the night of the 20th), and 2 nights in Chicago!  We'll have Friday with our sailor and hope to see a bit of the area, and a little "R and R!"  How about you?  :-)

I love downtown Chicago!  ever been there?  I was there over the 4th of July.  We had a great time.  We went to the Chicago Mueseum- it was amazing and of course to Navy Pier.  It is so pretty down there.
Girlfriend also got a call and our daughter called to say that she had seen where our SR had posted on Facebook. May just stay Residence Inn Waukegan, 2 bdrm suite, since girlfriend and mom are also going to be there. They are flying, think we are driving unless use skymiles at last min. Just wish we knew if Sunday SR would be with us or not. "Probably not. Way to go 349!
I stayed at Residence Inn, Waukegan several years ago when I attended a graduation with my daughter.  The 2 bedroom suite was perfect!  2 full baths .... nice sized kitchen area with full sized appliances *dishwasher included).  Common area even had a gas fireplace. We will be staying there again for our son's graduation.

I talked to my SR yesterday.  He said they were earned "Recruit Heaven" for being the top division right now. So, they got phone time, and computer/Facebook time.  He sounded so good, and said he was excited.  :)  One more week of testing so i hope they stay top division ---they have their last test this Wednesday, and last Personal Fitness Assessments on Tuesday.  He said they are hoping for the Hall of Fame Flag!!  That would be awesome.

We are staying in Waukegan for two nights. I told him whatever he wants to do, that is what we are doing.  so not sure as of yet.  But, now our SR said he MAY have Saturday with us.  That would be soooo awesome.  He is going to A school in Pensacola. He will find out for sure this week.  Fingers, toes, eyes, and everything else crossed! lol
