Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

I just found a USPS box with our division shirts. I guess each division designs their own flag. Does anyone know what "GSEC" "EMC" or "A01" is? These initials are in front of what i think are last names, so i wonder if these three are their RDC"s or something?

Philly, EMC is Electrician Master Chief, AO1 is ordnance man first class, GSEC is gas turbine technician chief. So, yes, these are the RDCs. The shirt sounds really cool.

Congrats, Philly5 and all of div349! My SR is in Div 350, so they do BS together, don't they? Congrats on their 'top' status - how awesome! 350 is doing well, too, but not that well, I don't think. I didn't order division t-shirts, because my son said he ordered some. I wonder if we'll get them at/after PIR? Only 10 days to go!!

I have been finishing up the PIR ribbon orders for this group. Almost all those that have been paid for have already been mailed but I still have several orders that I have not received payment for. Hopefully the ones that were mailed will be here by tomorrow. If you forgot to make your payment please let me know and you can still make it with PayPal and I can have them in the mail by tomorrow morning. Your PIR is very close (I know you love hearing that) so if you want ribbons you have to act fast and let me know ASAP. Thanks, Lora

Hello 349ers! I apologize for being M.I.A. this whole time... Moved from Great Lakes to San Diego, signed on to my new command (PCU Michael Murphy, hooyah!) and began MORE schooling for my rate. Been so busy. Hubby has done TREMENDOUSLY in boot camp, I have had a lot of letters (some happy, some sad). He is the division's medical yeoman. He really cares for his fellow shipmates, your sons/boyfriends/husbands,etc... I got a letter a week ago- my husband had everyone write a little note to me. It was great to hear each one of their experiences and how they feel about my hubby. Which brings me to my announcement- my husband was nominated HONOR RECRUIT. He wrote in his letter that he was voted by the division, his RDCs said he won 'by a landslide'. I am SO proud of him. Not only because I went through boot and I know how tough it is, but because he is excelling and he has made in impact on the other men in his division. He has taken his leadership position seriously, and from what his shipmates have said about him, he is the definition of 'shipmate', they go to him for everything! I expected nothing less from him. Anyway, I am SO proud of division 349 for doing so well with their drills, tests, and inspections. I'm crossing my fingers that they will get Hall of Fame- but I know from personal experience that that is HARD. Let's hope they keep it together for Battle Stations. That was the ultimate challenge for my division- it's all about TEAMWORK. So when you say your prayers Thursday night, pray that our boys find strength in eachother and they stick together as a team. I can't believe these two months are finally over. I don't know which was worse- being the recruit, or being the recruit's wife! Either way, it's been tough and I am just relieved to see it coming to an end.
If anyone has any SRs attending A School in Great Lakes and you have questions, feel free to contact me. I was in Great Lakes for 6 months after I graduated boot. Or if anyone has any questions in general that you think I could help you with, don't be shy!

Your post had me in tears :-) That is awesome, such a huge accomplishment :-) and I am so proud and thankful of you and your husband for serving our country. When was your PIR? Just wondering if you may have been there with one of my Sailors. My daughter had PIR July 23, 2010 and her husband's was Oct 29th 2010. Thanks so much for your service and good luck to you and your husband in the future.
