Anyone has a son/daughter in this Division?  My son will graduate 12/02/2011 (estimated, I guess - we haven't gotten the formal letter yet).  I'm so excited for him!  And proud beyond belief!!!  If you reply, please let me know where you live (at least the state) - I live in Texas (deep East Texas, close to Louisiana border).

Everybody hang in there!  I know there is still lots of time left before we see our kiddos -- but they are going to be in such good shape (both physically and mentally).  Their self-esteem is going to be great!  We need to be strong for them!

I believe that my son is in this group as well - got the info from the recruiter but not the official form letter.  I'm from the L.A. area in California and am so looking forward to traveling this journey with my son!  I am really proud of him!!

Thanks for your replies.  You are both from California!  My son will go to San Diego for "A" school - but not until early February.  Anyhow, I'm waiting for the official letter, too!  I'm really hoping he'll get to call us this weekend.  It's their 3rd week now and I've read where a lot of them get to call in the third week.  I'm crossing my fingers!  I agree, Debi:  I'm already enjoying this journey with him.  I'm so proud of him!  I'm really anxious to hear from him!

"Ya'll" take care!

Hi, My daughter is in this division, I was actually hoping the PIR date was a little later in Dec., well, I guess I'll just have to wait for the official letter.  I mailed off my letters yesterday, I went to the recruiter to get the address, so hopefully she'll have them by sat..I can't wait to hear from her.

By the way, I am also in CA..., my daughter is an AO, any other AO's out there?

Got the form letter today... PIR is on 12/2 for sure! Can't wait.... already booked the flights!

Well since you are in California, maybe I'll get mine today!  I can only hope!  What is an AO?

Aviation Ordiance - working with the weapons....lol...I guess I can't piss her off! My mail delivery is early, I had it at 9:30 am....

I was doing well, but she went and wrote a brief note/letter on the back of the form letter...it's actually pretty much stuff we learned here on N4M, its just "official" now..

We're in Riverside, so I'm sure you'll get yours today also, it was mailed out on the 11th

My son is (or will be LOL) and Air Traffic Controller - Is your daughter going to Pensacola as well?
yes, she will also be Pensacola...her A school is 7 weeks, how long for your son

16 weeks I believe

When they check in for A school, they will find out if they will get any leave for Christmas could be 3-5 days..

Oh that would be so nice!  I wasn't expecting that at all - that would certainly be a wonderful early Christmas present!!

Wouldn't it, that was one thing my daughter asked the Regional person, and I also asked the recruiter and he said that once they are at A school they will find out...he said more than likely sailors with longer schools will for sure get a holiday leave...so considering your son has 16 weeks of schooling I would venture to guess he'll be able to come home.  Although, be aware this is on us to get them home.  The navy doesn't pay for it, I told my daughter as soon as she finds out to let me know so i can find a flight quickly..

Are you going to be able to make it out for graduation?
