Has anyone received a phone call from their SR who has a PIR of 12/02/2011?

My first two questions will be "are you eating? How is the food? My SR is the pickiest of eaters and when my SR doesn't eat regular meals the migraines come.

I am so thankful we had our SR's 4 wisdom teeth taken out before BC. My SR had a reaction to the anesthesia and was home in bed from school for a week. Our recruiter tried to get us to wait and "let the Navy pay for the oral surgery" and so glad we didn't wait. Mom's do know best

That was my first question when my SR called!  He literally eats 4 different foods and that is it! He said "The food is really good!" They even have Fruit Loops!". He said he had gained about 7 lbs in the two weeks he's been there!  That made me feel so much better!
My SR wrote on the back of his form letter that he DOES HAVE TO have his wisdom teeth out while they are there.  I had asked his recruiter about this before he left to see if we should do it at home.. and he told me he has never had a SR have to have that done in his last 15 yrs of recruiting. Leave it to my SR to be his first!!  Why do they do this?  Is it really a health issue?

My recruit said he was told he has to have his wisdom teeth removed too but they are going to wait till after basic.  Not sure why this is an issue except that if they are away, i guess they could cause problems when there's not a dentist??

No phone call yet but I was also wondering how soon we would be getting them?

Proud Navy Mom - I don't think there are any hard and fast rules - from the information I have gathered Sunday's are your best bet.  That  is why I started this discussion thread so we could kind of get a feel for what to expect.

@Peggy - my SR called his dad's phone both times and my husband just doesn't know the questions to ask. I asked my husband "what did he say about this?" my husband said "I don't know I didn't ask" Typical! Husbands should not be allowed to talk when their phones ring. Sounds like my husband didn't get a lot of time to ask questions. The calls were so brief.  My husband is ex-Navy and had said Sundays are the best days to expect a call. I am expecting a call any day. Next week will be week 3.
We are flying in Thurs - Sunday but staying at the Navy Lodge near the base.

Our child is also ship 09 div 013. We are arriving onThursday too and scheduled to leave Sunday for now.  We are also staying at the Navy Lodge.  They said we need to use a private company to get to the graduation on Friday or leave extremely early if we plan on driving there on our own.

I thought Navy Lodge was on base? Do they mean take a cab? I heard if you take your rental car or your own car you will wait in a car line for 1 hour getting into the base due to security.

The woman said when we booked over the phone it was a little over a mile or so but we wouldnt be able to walk it?  She said they had private companies and see who has the best rates? I am thinking way too cold for my little guys in Dec as well as my parents to attempt to walk anyway

I was going to call again and see what they say and ask for the numbers

no have not received any calls just the box and form letter with little note on back which i was moret then thrilled to get

have already mailed several letters and booked my flight i hope time flies
