Just got "the letter" today!! It was great to see his handwriting and hear how things are going. He had "6 minutes" to write and managed to get a full page in before he had to go! It sounds like it's going well and I can't wait to see him at PIR!!
Any one else out there with an SR in the same ship/div?

Hi there Graceism, our sailors are definately connected! I hear that things are going well, my son is very tired, but enjoying it and making friends. I booked our tickets last week and can't wait to go! I checked into "refundable" tickets and they were 4 times the price of a regular ticket! I just booked the cheaper tickets and am keeping my fingers crossed that it doesn't change! I still have to do the rental car and hotel. We are coming up from South Florida, too far to drive! I was watching some videos on line of the PIR and I am definately going to have to buy some waterproof make up! It is going to a very emotional day, to say the least. I just hope that we get some time with them on Friday.
Where is your daughter heading for A school?
Hey tehre SubMom....boy you are so far ahead of me in the planning your travels...I am torn to whether to try and stay through the weekend and enjoy Chicago after the graduation or come back when the weather is warmer (smile)....I am looking into the train as our mode of transportation because we are not interested in physically driving 9 hours...although the train will take an hour longer it will not be as tiring and we will have a sleeper ....but it will come together...The older I get the less I enjoy flying but I may need to bit the bullet this one time...we shall see...I will definitely be going with the cheaper tickets and crossing my fingers tooooo. (smile)
She is heading to "A" school in Pensacola...she is going to IT"A" school....my husband and I were just there late last year for a wedding and we were so excited when we found out she was going there...it was very emotional for two old salty dogs like ourselves to see all of those young Sailors just going about their lives at a such a young age...I got very emotional just being on the base.
Well, you have motivated me...I am going to finish up all of the travel arrangements this weekend....thanks for sharing!!! Have a great weekend!
