Since he is in a 900 division, which are performing Divisions and perform in one or two PIR's before their own PIR (as well as their own), watch on the RTC fB site in the photos of the PIR groups beginnning a couple of weeks ahead of his PIR. You may also want to join the Group, 900's division sailors. There will be information on there that relates to your situation. Here is a site I found that explains about 900 Divisions. Hi,
We have received numerous letters and actually 3 phone calls in addition to the one when they got there. My son sounded very positive, yet homesick! Can't wait to see him on the 4th! My son is in Ship 09 div 364. He has becomes friends with a recruit from Maryland, we are from Delaware. They flew out of BWI together and became fast friends. I'm looking for his mom so we can talk and maybe meet up at PIR. I hope this forum may help me find her. Everybody here sounds positive which is great to hear! It's good to have this type of forum..since we are all in the same situation. Good luck to all of you and your recruits!
Yes! We are planning to go to meet and greet. We fly out of Philly early thurs. am and should be in Chicago by 930am ish,,god willing!! I'm so glad you responded. It is nice that these boys have made some friends and have someone they can rely on. After all they are all they have out there. Look forward to meeting some mom's and families.
Hi ! What school is Kyle going to ? Justin will be an EM (electrician). He hasn't said where he put to go on his wish list. When I was active duty I put all west coast on my list and ended up in Groton, CT...lol..He didn't mention anyone from MD, it was Kyle L from DE and Kyle S from WI. I am excited to meet everyone also. Do you know what time the meet and greet is? We may have to leave a bit earlier. My other two sons are 14 and 15 and they are both coming so I don't want them to miss a ton of school. I know what you mean about being at the "quiet" age..lol. Did you get your phone call on Thursday? It stunk because I was at work so couldn't talk to him the entire time but he was able to call his dad at work too. He made me want to cry because I told him he should call his brother and he said...No, that will just bum me out because I miss him so much. =( It will be great for them to see each other in....12 DAYS !!! yay!! Are you staying at the Ramada also or just going over for the meet and greet? We are staying there because they have a pool, I figured it would give the boys something to do. Justin said he wasn't sure what his liberty schedule will be, I hope they get to spend some time with us !! I read (on the website I think) that after graduation they will need to go and get their stuff for school ready and then they will be able to leave the base, but that they need to be back by 9pm each night. I am not sure if he is going to want to do things in Chicago or just relax at the hotel and regroup for school on Monday. I told him that whatever he wants to do is fine with me.
