I haven't gotten a letter yet and we are leaving for the weekend sometime this afternoon. We have had a really hard week, Just found out my dad has brain cancer. That is really hard to say.

It would be a nice pick me up to read about my son's experience. He was really excited when he left and the little note on the form letter was confident and happy. I balled like a baby when he left San Antonio. He is my baby, my caboose and him being gone makes our home a lot quieter. I don't have my little (6'2") country boy trying out his dance moves with me in in the kitchen anymore. I can't wait to hold that letter in my hands. It's so funny to think of him writing. Writing is so foreign to our kids. They know how to text and maybe send an email, but writing letters. I had to show him how to address an envelope before he left. It made be realize that I had not done my job as a mom.

Hey for those of you that pray, and I am guessing that's a lot, would you pray that by the PIR on Dec 2 I can tell Luke good news about his grandpa? Luke's grandpa's name is Danny.I'd really appreciate the help.

Thank you so much. God is good all the time even when we don't understand. Thank you again.

Prayers from WV going up right now for you and your entire family.  Keep the faith!!
Thanks again.I know that God hears us.

Dear DBrown,

I'm very sorry your dad is going through all of this.  I pray for strength, courage, and faith for him, you, and the entire family.  I know there are no words that I could say to ease this time for you, so I've asked God to take over.  It is in his hands, just as it has always been.

Your son is in the same division as my son. I know what you're feeling, my friend.  It is truly emotional and difficult to watch our "babies" move to the next journey in their lives ... this time without us guiding them along the way.  But that's how it's supposed to be, isn't it?  God gives us the will to help build these children into young adults ready to take on the world and rise to the challenges ahead.  Be proud that you have done that!

I know you will receive a letter very soon and you will read that your son is doing things he never thought he could, he is making it through, he is becoming an even better person, and he is missing you and loving you.  I promise ... that will never cease to exist.  ~hug~

Stay strong ... take one day at a time ... breath.  Godspeed.

Nikki

DBrown...Sorry to hear about your Dad.  I'm praying for you!  My Dad had a stroke on 10/18 (he is only 59 years old) & has improved so much over the last week, it is a miracle and proof that God is listening.  I will pray for your good news to your son as I am praying that my Dad will be out of the hospital in time to make it to PIR.
