No letter for me yesterday:(.  But her friend received one.  I was so upset that someone else received a letter from her before I did.  I just hope I have a letter today when I get home.

I got a letter last night.  It totally surprised me because I really had told myself not to expect any until Friday. They've had the swim test because he said he passed it.  Doing a lot of marching and drill.  Said it was rainy and cold for a couple of days but lately it has been chilly but sunny.  We're from California so I was really worried about the weather. I know it will get worse but at least the change will be gradual.

THe best part is that he said he has made friends and they help each other out when they can.  It would be wonderful if some of them were your sons or daughters.

I'm praying that all of you get letters today.

My daughter passed her swim test also. She seems to like it. Said the food in the galley is awesome chow, as good as her granmas cooking..LOL. She said teamwork is important. She is adjusting. She is hoping that in some way she has helped others. If that is the case, my daughter has grown up a lot. Several of her friends and other family members received letters also. They are very excited to hear from her. Hope everyone's sons and daughters are doing well also. I think about these young people all the time.

I got 7 letters!!!!!   My daughter is doing fine, she says that it is not what she expected & is actually having fun.  She has passed her swim test, but not the run or push up yets.  She has made several friends in both division 015 & 016.  She said that her bunkmate is from TX, if any of you are from TX & your daughter can draw but not sing, send me a message.

I'm so glad that I got letters today, I really needed them!!!!

I am so happy for you. Just waiting until i get the mail later to see if we got any mail yet.
I'm so happy, I'm crying!! I got THREE letters from my son today and he also sent one to his brother!!! I cried all the way home from work because I hadn't gotten a letter or phone call. Then when I checked the mail and saw a stuffed envelope and opened it and all these letters, I cried even more! Thank you God! I needed to hear from my son. He's doing well. Says he misses me alot. Says he is excited and sad at the same time. Excited for becoming a sailor but sad that he is leaving me. Cry cry cry. He says he is homesick but that bootcamp is not that bad. Ha ha ha. In one of his letters he says he's lost track of the days. Says he knows it is Friday, just doesn't know which Friday it is. He didn't date any of his letters.

I'm so happy. I'm gonna read them over and of again.
I am so happy for you.  We all know how you feel.  The relief of knowing they are allright.

Got my Letter,

she said that she has figured out that she can fall asleep standing up. She told her dad that he should have texting on his phone as it would make writing letters easyer. She said that in the Navy she has learned to Walk, talk, and write. You have to walk a certain way and write a certian way and there is no talking, except to the RDC's. And she likes her RDC, said that she talks really loudly. she can also shine boots and fold her clothes. She thinks that maybe she could surive prison. :)

Too funny!!!  It makes all the difference in world getting a letter doesn't it??
My daughter said that she likes the RDC's also & has learned to shine her boots.  She said that she & her bunk mates are having a competition to see who can write the most letters & that she needs more envelopes & stamps. She said that they have given each other nicknames & seems really excited.  Her RDC told her that because she is a W.I.N.T.R. (woman in non-traditional rating) that she should push to go to sea right after A School because she can gain rank fast.  She seems to be O.K. & that made it a little easier for me
I am so happy for everyone!!!! Some of your letters sound just like mine!!!
I got 2 letters yesterday from my daughter!!! my mailman was soooo late that i thought i wasn't getting anything. very sad as my mother and her best friend both got letters. then at the last minute i saw the mail truck coming ever so slowly towards my house!!! YAY!!!  She is doing ok. has a sinus infection and junk in her lungs! hope she'll still graduate on time ~ we've already booked! she passed her swim test and actually had the chief do a happy dance because she knew her ranks and chain of command.. funny. she said that she was "volun-TOLD" she would be on ship staff. I don't know what that is.  also said that they had mail call twice and received 19 letters in one shot but she feels really bad that some of the girls didn't get any letters at all. HOW COULD THIS BE?!?! i just feel aweful. I am so thankful our letters are finally coming! I hope everyone has received something by the end of toaday.
