Anyone has a son/daughter in this Division? My son will graduate 12/02/2011 (estimated, I guess - we haven't gotten the formal letter yet). I'm so excited for him! And proud beyond belief!!! If you reply, please let me know where you live (at least the state) - I live in Texas (deep East Texas, close to Louisiana border).
Everybody hang in there! I know there is still lots of time left before we see our kiddos -- but they are going to be in such good shape (both physically and mentally). Their self-esteem is going to be great! We need to be strong for them!

DisneyDebi,
Keep your chin up. The Navy wants to see them succeed. The SI's go through such a roller coaster of emotions during BC. Just 5 more weeks. I wouldn't listen to him about the letter writing. I think that he'll feel even more lonely and isolated without them. If he has a FaceBook page post on it and ask his friends to make encouraging comments, then you can print them out and send them to him. You can also post his mailing address and reach out to his friends to write him. The encouragement is what he needs right now.
Feel free to "dump" here any time. We're here for each other!
Janis
Thank you Janis! As I receive more encouragement, I am able to "step away from" the initial despair that I was feeling. I know that each day will get better - I realized this morning that there was no date on the letter, so its possible it was written several days ago and maybe things will start falling into place. I will continue to write to him, daily - because I agree - as the days get easier for him, he'll want to have the encouragement. I did post on his FB to have his friends write positive encouraging letters...
Thank you again :)
Debi
Did anyone else get a phone call today? We got to talk for 41 minutes 26 seconds. I was so excited. I'm sure they that everyone heard me scream. I hope that you all have a great evening and you will get a phone call.
DisneyDebi,
I hope you received a phone call today! Please let us know when you hear more from your SR. I am greatful for the support here and I hope we can give you that also.
Hello There, Ou kid is on the 02 903 DIV PIR 12/02/2011, we are so proud of him, and we just received a call from him on Friday, was so nice to hear his voice, he say that is very happy with the division, state that they are very very cooperative, that always they are helping each other to meet the goals and times. Also say that they can't talk to much but the little they can they are always encouraging each other.
They have a lot to study and not to much time to do it, several of them are with cold because the weather, say that are doing only 2 hours of excersise but havin 3 good meals a day are going to gain weight, they already have the measurements for the uniforms and maybe will get their 1st payment check on Nov 1st. not expecting to much because the deductions for all the staff they received. My son is one of the oldest on the DIV and they joke w him sayin are going to prepare for him chicken soup for the cold. That is a way of showing good spirit on the DIV.
BTW we are in Fort Lauderdale S Florida having a rainy weekend.
Hope to get more comments from you!
