As the 15 th slowly approaches . i find myself ready but then again not for what lies ahead . I am an on hands mom and am finding it hard to shallI say cut the apton strings . This is such a wonderful opp . for my son but why do i feel like my baby doesn.t need me anymore ?

Trust me, they all still need us. I understand about the apron strings. I did not cut mine, my daughter is just 19 and has been in almost a year and half. I just turned mine into elastic strings...... However that said, she and I are close and we have decided that no one can break that bond.

Boys are a bit different, my son when he left for BC, only wrote us once and it was a half page, daughter was always writting 2 or 3 pages.

He is now home for good (was separated for profound hearing loss) and is that same way, just a few words on his way out the door, or when he calls.

He did write his girlfriend all the time, so there is hope if he has no one else to write to. Good luck, we have all been down this road and know where you are at.
