I saw a discussion thread like this on another group and thought I would borrow the idea so we can all share the funny things or touching things our SR's write home about in their letters.  So anyone that has already recieved letters from their SR's please share any funny comments that they are sending back home.  As soon as I get a letter, I'll post...

My son said he has gotten OCD about keeping his clothes perfect in his rack.
I hope that OCD bug rubs off on my son!
According to my daughter-in-law, my son's OCD wore off after his 1st deployment.  Now he is messier than ever & only cleans if she tells him that housing is coming for an "inspection" (which they haven't done, but may at anytime)...lol
I'm OCD too Peggy.  I have no idea where my boys get their sloppiness from cause it's not from me!!!
It is going to be VERY interesting to see how tidy he is when he gets to come home.
Get this - he wrote - Hey mom, one more thing. Can you send me the lyrics to Johnny Cash Greatest Hits?  I've been singing in my head at night so yeah ha ha! "  WHAT!! My son wants Johnny Cash lyrics!!  LOL

Woohoo!  Finally got a letter from my son!  Here are a couple things he wrote that made me chuckle:

"I'm writing here beside my rack with all of my letters out and people keep passing me going, 'Damn (last name)!' haha"

"The chow is awesome here, but that's understandable because I get so hungry!"

"I'm sick of all the IT sessions, even though I kick ass at them. LoL"

~smile~

Peggy's what was funny to me is that my never listened to Johnny Cash before!! At least if he did, I never knew about it... LOL.

Peggy:  I wish I could share everything he wrote because it was hilarious.  He sounded so damn good and I just felt relief rush over my entire being!!  Cried my butt off.  :)

PNM:  That's hilarious!  I wonder what the heck proud that on, huh?  What's funny is he didn't ask for ONE song but the greatest hits?  So how many would that be?  hahahaha  Maybe it's the 'I walk the line" one.  haha

Well he also said boot camp is like prison so maybe he hums the Foldom prison song to himself! Lol.
I have to say the funniest thing my daughter wrote so far.  "Mom the girl in front of me took the last 2 pancakes, boy did that p*ss me off." (She loves her food and isn't a big breakfast eater).  In the same letter she said, "oh and let me tell you getting up at 05:30am and doing mountain climbers in combat boots is not my idea of fun.  But all in all the day was good."
We had pancakes last night for supper and my husband said I wonder if our SR get pancakes. Thanks for answering that question for us.. Even if you didn't know you were.. hehe
