Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

I am sure he will see my daughter there! I don't know what all of the rates are yet. What is HC? Also, you should join DEP-Leaving for bootcamp in July.

Hospital Corpsman. I will look for it, very new on here so am not sure what is recent and what is older, think I saw that though and thought it was an older post(2010).

I realized what it meant after I sent reply. As far as older posts, the group is for leaving in july, any year. Lets keep in touch as our children will be at bc the same time, ok? I just said children...wow. That seems wrong now that they've made such a grown up decision...though Emili will turn 18 in bc...:(

Craig- thanks for the correction and I got the sheet from my post you answered earlier, just got the letters messed up.. not sure I will ever get this stuff right..
em- that sounds good, although I am not sure I will be posting on here any more. Just lots of emotions going on right now and trying to process them all.(as i am sure you know)

I'm sorry to hear that. I really wish you would stay. Helping moms through with their emotions and learning about everything is what this site is for. That's why wer're here. I just read recently in one of the posts "the more you know, the less you fear."
