While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

UNBELIEVABLE!!
I finally got a call from my SR. She called me here at work because she knew her Dad and I wouldn't be home. Some dude who was supposed to be reseting the clocks on our phones took the whole system down! OMG! I got to talk to her for maybe 90 seconds tops. I am absolutely devestated and want to kill that phone guy. My heart is racing. Crying my eyes out. Can't even imagine how she feels. Do you think she might get another chance to call because her 1st try got cut off? OMG! The only thing that keeps coming to mind is OMG! Pleasse let my phone ring again....please.

They're allowed x amount of time to use the phones. My son got about 1/2 hour, so hopefully she will be able to call back. Fingers crossed for you, and curse that phone guy!

SHE CALLED BACK! YAHOO!
My SR got to call back! OMG! We got to talk for almost 15 minutes! She sounds fantastic! Said BC isn't bad at all. Just shut-up and do what your told! In a "push" division. Earned her "marksman" ribbon. Not too shabby for someone who never even held a gun until BC. Gave me a little list of things she wants me to bring to PIR.
Thank you to all my Navy 4 Moms "sisters" for all your caring and support. You know the minute that incident happened, I immediately turned to my support group. Don't know what I'd do without you.

That is so great that you got a chance to really talk to her. I would have had someones head on a platter if that happened to me. I am still holding out for a call today but I think my chances are slim now. Was that the first call she was able to make? Did she give any info about what the div is doing or did this past week? Did they get their pictures done today?

This was the 1st call we received from our SR. I was beginning to think we wouldn't be getting a call but the next thing you know we did so you just never know. Said the division is doing really well. Their RDC's are pretty cool -- get on them when they mess up but that's about it. Trying to think about what all she said...did Marlinspike last week. Shooting range this week. 3rd PT coming up. Oh, I know she told me more but I'm drawing a blank. Did say they are about a week or so behind the bootcamp schedule posted here.

So very happy that you got a call back! Best thing in the world, hearing their voice after so long. I know what you mean about the support - my first bad day, this was the first place I came, and I was lifted up - no one else around me could really understand what I was feeling, but these great "sisters" here did!!!

Okay family my son is having trouble doing the dead mans float any suggestion? Please Help!

Tell him to try and relax and let the water carry him. Literally, don't fight the water. Let the water do all the work. All he has to do is lie there. The water will hold him up. The more keyed up he is the more likely he's going fight the water and the more likely it is he will sink like a rock. The dead man's float is face down but if he Is floating on his back, tell him to arch his back slightly (an upside down "u")...just a little. This will help keep him afloat and his legs from sinking. Same thing being face down...the minute his back goes to a "u" shape, he's gonna sink. Have him imagine there is something under his abdomen/chest and it is gently pushing his back towards the surface. Quick question, does your SR know how to swim? Not saying that to be nasty or anything but it could part of the reason he's having trouble. Floating and treading water are 2 of the 1st things a new swimmer learns. My daughter, who is a SR in Division 16, was a lifeguard and taught swim lessons at our local "Y". I wish there was a way to get them together, she would get your SR through this.
