My daughter leaves in December to the Great Lakes.  She is heading for A school in Maryland afterwards for MC.  Anyone else got kids leaving then?

My son leaves for Boot Camp December 20th also.  He will be going to school in Dam Neck VA I believe afterward.  Hoping to connect with others.

My son graduated bootcamp in Great Lakes last July.  We went for his graduation and was amazed at how nice it was.  It actually looked like a college campus.  My son really like it there and is now in Pensacola, FLA finishing up B school which will end in November.  He was second to select his tour last week which will be in Japan.  Hate that it's so far, but he's really excited and will be on the USS George Washington working on F-18s.  Good luck to you, I'm sure your daughter will be just fine.  You'll be so proud of her at graduation.  I wasn't the only mom jumping off the bleachers after the ceremony running towards my child!

Hi MelissB.  My son is in bootcamp right now with a PIR of 12/29.  He will then be going to A school at Pensacola.  I will definitely be planning a trip down there to see him.  One of my son's recruiters left a couple of months ago for Japan on his second tour there.  He told us how much he loved it there, so I wish your son a great experience over there also.  My son is going into aviation electronics so it sounds like we've got a lot in common.

Ahh, he leaves on my birthday.  That would have been hard for me.

Our sailor is in dry dock in Portsmouth, VA, and will be there about 2 more years.  We have gone up 3 times this year and probably have one more trip, weather permitting, when my school is off in December.

I have a son going to Basic on December 20th - but from what I read it will most likely be sooner.  He is going to A school in Virginia after that for Intelligence Specialist.  What is your daughter going into?  Have you seen any other groups for our time frame?

my son is leaving from Kansas City on Dec 7...do not know where he is going after boot camp...
