Looking for others who have a loved one that will be attending A School in San Antonio.  My son is to PIR on 12/2/11 and then, head to SA.  I love that he will be back in Texas and just 4 hours away from me.  Well, at least for 14 weeks....

My son is Ship 07 Division 010.  We hope to make it to the M&G, but not sure yet.  We plan to drive up on Wednesday with my daughter and son-in-law.  If all goes as well, we will be there.  We are staying at the Navy Lodge, because it is close for the PIR.  I am like you, everything that I have searched has them leaving Saturday.  We are hoping that they will get to spend Christmas or at least some time close to Christmas at home.  As soon as we get the SAILOR Call, I will post and let you know if he has any information on the departure times.

ProudMom7----sounds good.  We fly out Wednesday and come back home on Tuesday.  As sson as you find out anything let me know...see you soon...

My daughter is headed to A school in San Antonio.

Fatty Cat---what division is your daughter in?  My son is 07/009.

my daughter is in Div 016

Hello Cubmom and all, my son too will be going to SA.  A little warmer.  He is ship 09 Div 016.  We live in the Tampa, FL area

My daughter will be going also.

Yes my Daughter is heading that way after Graduation.

YES My son is headed there as well. But were in MI so very far away!!

Dawn in MI

My son is to PIR 12/2/11, now is in division 903, heading to SA Texas, told me on 12/11 has to report himself there.  Any news if they will have free time during Christmas and New Year days?

When I talked to my son on Thanksgiving, he told me that he had to report to SA no later than Dec 12.  His PIR is Dec 2. He couldn't tell me what happens between Dec 2 and Dec 12.  Can he come home?  I also read that SA basically closes down from Dec 18-Jan 2.  Does anyone know if they can come home for Christmas?  Does he have to pay for the flights himself?

My son is also headed to A school and C school in SA after Dec 2 PIR.  We live in PA so SA is farrrrrr from home.
