Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving also.  We also left a phone on all day and kept it with us so we wouldn't miss a call but didn't get one.  I did get a short letter today that said that the next time they would get to call would be sometime in Dec.  It was really nice to even get this letter though.  Have a great weekend everyone. :)

Hi, We received a letter today also.  Our son also sent the Adopt a Salior form.  We have already booked our tickets for Christmas.  I am so excited.  He also sent a letter to one of his friends, and she also received hers today.  He stated in the letter that he was adjusting, and that he felt he was growing closer to God.  I am so thankful.

@Hismom. Have you made hotel reservations as yet for christmas?

Triple A agent booked us at Hampton inn at Gurnee. She grew up in that area, and that is where she recommended. $80 a night with some type of breakfast included. Will be arriving at Ohare around 400 on the 24th.

Ok good. I am still deciding between the Residence Inn Gurnee and staying at the Navy Lodge. I usually like Residence Inns because of the space as well as they offer a full breakfast as opposed to only a continental one. I held both properties and will decide after I hear which one my son wants to stay at. I think my flight will arrive into Midway so I will have to pick up a car to take us around so that will be my next thing to do.

Sounds good. Do you know what time you be arriving at Gurnee?

My flight is schedule to arrive at 3 pm but with getting and car and checking in, I am thinking I should be in my hotel round about 5pm that day if all goes well...lol.. My life is always subject to change so I will keep you posted as time get closer.

Sounds great.

Hey you guys. Before I even open my two letters to read them I must let you know that you guys are the best for sharing with us because I may sound dumb but I didn't even know mail was running today. If I didn't see your posts about getting letters I would have never checked my mailbox and lo and behold... two letters from my SR. Thanks you all. I will sure come back and share with you all as well.

Hello again. I read and re-read my letters and I feel like I just won a million dollars. One letter was the Adopt-A-Sailor form which I completed right away and will fax it tomorrow because I am way too excited to let it sit. Then the next is his letter. He is doing fine and he is counting down the weeks. He also said he met some good friends and they are really getting along great as a team. I am so glad to hear that. He also said he has not got any of our letters so I am not sure why he hasn't but I hopefully he has gotten some since he mailed his letter to us. This has totally made my night. Have a great weekend everyone.

Ship 7 Div 35, here as well :) I am so excited that time is getting closer!

Me too! Almost to week 4!!!....well of them being there. haha.
