Hey Kristen:
What kind of amenities does the Spring Hill suites have? I already have reservations at the Navy Lodge, but really there is nothing to do there on the off hours that we don't have our son with us, and Honestly I wouldn't mind sitting at the hotel bar and having a drink!
Still have not heard from Kenny yet, still hovering over the mail box and phone!!
Hey KensMoM we are staying at the Residence Inn (Waukegan) - on exploring the website I saw they had wine and beer - I said well that's my kind of place!
Goodmorning! No spring hill doesnt have a bar!! Darn I wish it did I just thought it looked awesome. Indoor swimming pool it does have. How are you all? Any letters yet or calls? Nothing here:( Maybe today!!
Nasty rain and cold here in Maryland today! No letters or calls, damn mailman has been coming really really late, like 6:55pm! Ridiculous! There is a fiance on RTC facebook page who said she got a call from her SR (09/042) and I asked around and didn't see that anyone else had gotten a call! Did any of you get a call last night? UGH I just would love a letter! Even a one page letter!
I have not heard from my son since he called the night he arrived - I am going with the theory that no news is good news
SHIP 09/DIV 042 PARENTS/FRIENDS/FAMILY - ok.. here is what some of us have begun doing.... Exchange your sons or daughters names with others in the forum.. example.. you send my son mail, and i send your recruit mail... It should make them giggle a little, wondering what the heck their parents are doing... and also unite them more as a TEAM and a UNIT... Add me if you would like to join in on the fun... TY
we changed our reservations to the LaQuinta in Gurnee - we are flying in and not renting a car - this motel has restaurants within walking distance - and $45 a night.
Hi Britts mom~
Have you heard from or received a letter from your SR? We have many in our group on the RTC Forum page, that have not heard from their SR, and we were just checking in on you!
Audrey
Audrey - No call or letters - none to his friends either. Should we be worried??
I am trying not to worry! So far it seems that our division is the only one that hasn't received letters! It is a little disheartening, I take comfort that my son is keeping busy and doing his job to get through this!
Where are you staying for PIR?? Are you going to Sarge's Meet and Greet?
Here is hoping soemthing comes in today for all of us!
I got a phone call!!! (posting this late - had company -couldn't get to the computer) my son called around 6 pm Thurs (12/08). He sounded great - said everything is going good - he has passed everything except his time was not good on push-ups - has to re test on that. I was so excited to hear his voice I can't remember half what we talked about. Anyway, I feel relieved and feel like I can get a good nights sleep!
