Looking for others who have a loved one that will be attending A School in San Antonio.  My son is to PIR on 12/2/11 and then, head to SA.  I love that he will be back in Texas and just 4 hours away from me.  Well, at least for 14 weeks....

I was at the airport but my Sailor is actually in Monterey and he left from the airport pretty early - I will email you though as he was friends with quite a few corpsman going to SA so maybe they were friends :)

My son is in SA was DIV 903, just say have free time 12/16 - 01/01, looking for his flight tkt, any advise of ways to have cheaper tkts, due the season prices are high.

We are in Fort Lauderdale, South Florida.

Mine is the same but putting in a leave chit only for the 22nd to the 29th. She does not want to go too far in the whole for her leave dates because we have some pretty big things upcoming that she needs time off for. With her limiting the dates it makes flights a little more expensive... we are looking at $400 approx San Antonio to DC. Good that she is a "grown up" now with a job!! LOL (OK.. I lie.. we all know I am buying... LOL)

My son recruiter offer him that he can go for 2 or 3 hours to do some work at the recruiter office and that count for a day of work, not going against their vacation time, ask her recruiter for this. She may save 3 or 4 days for her off time in the future.

That is what my son is going to do.  He wanted to stay home a little longer......I am not complaining................congrats on your son coming home for Christmas.

They maybe and yes, please email and keep in touch.

My son got his tickets booked yesterday - he will be home late on the 18th to the morning of the 1st!

That is great... Congrats!!!

Thanks Cubmom...When is your son going to be home?

I leave to San Antonio on the 16th --I work as a nurse so, I work doubles on the weekends and off all week.  He will be able to visit friends on the weekend and then, I will have him all week that is if his 2 other brothers will share him.  They are so excited that he is coming home.  I bet you guys are ready to have your Sailor in his bed.  Even as old as they are I still go in and check in on them.....

Sorry not to make any replay lately, my son will leave SA Monday morning to Ft Lauderdale and back to A School the 30st, more than happy to have our sailor at least2 short weeks for Christmas, planning to visit him maybe Feb 2012.

Hope all you have good news from SA
