I have a SR in Ship 04 Div 019.  I have just found this group within the site.  I have already enjoyed reading all the posts and have learned more just from those readings.  I am in Texas and estatic about PIR on 12/16/2011.  I have all my paperwork in order, plane tickets purchased, luggage packed.  However I am not sure that I will have packed sufficiently for Chicago weather being from Texas my whole life.  I was also lucky enough to be able to order my shirt with his flag printed on it to wear at PIR.  It should be in the mail by today or tomorrow.  If there is anything else that I might be missing I would love to know about it or just meet anyone would also be great.

Hi Seabee2be,,,I am from North Carolina and like you have no idea what cold weather is really like. But I have my long johns ready!!! LOL. What part of Texas are you from? My  oldest son is in Midland Texas.

I reside in the DFW area.  I have my long johns packed also.  The excitement for me just continues to grow and I have loved this site in the short time that I have been here.  I have gotten so much information and not so worried about PIR and doing something that will get my SR jeapordized.  I do plan to hold on to his "left" arm for as long as he will let me.

Does this mean that you have already gone through PIR with your oldest?

I have been thru AirForce graduation and it was AWESOME!!!!! It took place in San Antonio Texas. I have 4 children my oldest is in Midland playing football West Texas Roughnecks and working for some oil company in the off season. My 19 years ild is a Airman in the Airforce and of course my only girl is a SR in the Navy(A Sailor in a couple of days. Then I have a 8 year old son.

I am just waiting on my I Am A Sailor Call!!!!

Are you coming to the meet & greet on Thursday...Sarge's meet & greet?

I put that it is a maybe.  We are flying in on Thursday and should land around 5 pm.  I have several others that are with me so that would be the only hold up on me going to the meet and greet.  I have every desire to go and meet all of you wonderful supportive people.
