Hi. Glad to be on this site. My 19 year old nephew arrived at Boot Camp 12/12/11. His box came Monday, 12/19. No form letter yet. Has anyone received a letter from a recruit that arrived on the 12th? Does anyone from that date have a PIR date yet? I really miss him and can't wait to hear from him. I'm praying for him and all the recruits. This site has helped me out so much learning about what they are doing. Have appreciated all the forums. Thanks NavyForMoms.

It looks like a few got a letter today with PIR of Feb 17. My son arrived on the 13th and I am still awaiting the letter.
Thanks, Connie. Hopefully the letter for both of us will come soon. Can't wait to send him some mail.
I want to send mail to my son also. It is driving me crazy knowing that he will not have a letter for Christmas. His recruiter told him I would have his address last Fri so I feel like he will be expecting a letter this Sun. I know it is probably bothering me way more than him. He is probably so busy he may not even realize how long it has been. I see your name is unc80. Any attachment to the school? It is close to us.
Yes, I graduated from Carolina in 1980. I live in Salisbury. My name is Trudy. Where do you live?
I know what you mean about Christmas. I hate that they won't have mail. I've got three letters to go as soon as I get his address. I'm sending stamped postcards to him because he doesn't like to write. I thought at least he could write a short postcard.
Hi Connie
My son arrived at boot on the 7th and I just got the first letter today. His letter started with "they finally let us write letters today." So your letter will come soon. My son asked for prayer and stamps! Nice priorities. he was upbeat but could hear his fatigue. I could here the maturity already. Hang in there. We are in this together.
Thanks. I know he is OK or I would have heard something. No news is a good thing at this point. I really think when I get the address so I can send letters I will feel much better. Even if he cant read them, I want to know they are waiting or him.
Yes, Connie that is true. He had several letters from home once we got his address but he only got one letter. Ours so they know which to give our SR. Letters are very comforting for both of us. he said he did not care what we wrote about just wirte. So I am burning up USPS. Hae a merry Christmas in your son's honor!
I got my letter today. Doing my happy dance.
Great. So happy for you. Still no letter here. Maybe tomorrow.
I hope so. It will be nice for you to get it before Christmas. Mine was post marked on the 20th. Maybe it just takes an extra day for yours.
Hi Connie,
so 2/17 is your PIR? we are 2/3. What or where is GC? Our SR is going to So. Carolina for Nuke School. I hope that is right. I guess I have not had my head in the game to remember that important detail. Just making through the day. And yes it is getting easier each day. You have a merry Merry Chritsmas and a prosperous New Year. I am trying to get a picture to upload. Not very good at it nor is anyone in the family. We are book nerds more than computer nerds!
GC is Goose Creek SC. I think it is the only Nuke school and is just outside of Charleston. I also can't get a pic up on the computer.
