Son left 12/5/11.  Just received the form letter.  He's Ship 12 Div 058. PIR 2/3/12.  Got a very short note saying the Petty Officers were killing them.  That was alarming, but then at the end, his usual sarcasm of "I'm alive so stop freaking out."  That made me feel much better.  Anyone else??????

Did anyone receive a real letter yet??

I haven't received a real letter as of yet.  Hopefully soon...... the waiting is horrible lol.

yep, got one today.  see my post.  He Sounds  good and likes his division.

Got a REAL LETTER today ... he sounds great.  Says they have 94 in their division and 3 RDC's  Seems very happy, I could hear his sense of humor throughout the letter.   Sigh of relief!!

Yay! I hope there's a letter waiting when I get home!

I received 2 letters today.  It was a total relief to read that all is well. She seemed upbeat and made jokes which really made me feel better. I hope everyone else are getting letters as well.....just in time for Christmas :)

FINALLY.....I got 3 letters today!  Santa came early!!  He says there are 96 in their division and they are all friends.  He says it was 18 degrees on the 17th of December.  Burrrrr!  He says the food is good and they get up at 6am.  He was his usual sarcastic self so I feel much better.  He says he received all 78 of my letters.  Lol.

Hey we got our letters on Dec. 22 as well.  Which hotel have ya'll heard suggested? My son is in 12/057 and he said about 80 guys.  He said the food wasn't super bad, it was cold and snowing all the time, it isn't a cakewalk and he has only slept 20 hours since Dec. 5.  He seems to be doing well and keeping a great sense of humor.

I received 8 letters yesterday as well. My husband is doing well. Do you know what section your son is in? I found out while reading his letter that my husband is a Section leader for Section #4. I am sooooo proud of him!

Are you 12/058? I don't know what section he is in....the letters didn't say.

Yes I'm 12/058. Can't wait to see him! I actually received a phonecall last night, best Christmas gift ever! He earned it for having the best inspection.
That's awesome! Congrats. Did he say what their division did on Christmas day? Stay on base? Have a feast? Did he know what day the whole division is scheduled to get phone calls? I haven't heard of anyone else in our division to get a phone call, so sorry for all the questions :)
