I have a nephew in Div 072. I am a proud mom of a Navy Nuc (he PIR'd last December). Would like to keep up with my nephew's PIR group this time around.

I'm the Proud Mom of a Navy Recruit, Ship 12, Div 074!!
My SR is Div 073. Incredibly proud, but miss him terribly.
Did anyone get a call for Christmas? Recruiter said I'd get one, but nothing :(
Just got news today from my nuke. Ship 03 Div 072. PIR 2/17/12.
I checked with expedia.com on the whole flight, hotel, and rental car. It was a little cheaper going that route than trying to do each thing seperately but I did get a brochure with my sons first letter that had hotels, flights, and rental cars with a discount. I haven't checked on that yet.
I think Ramada is where they have the Meet & Greet the night before PIR. It did not look like the greatest hotel, but we didn't stay there. It is pretty old. The Meet & Greet was very nice though so make sure you go. You don't have to stay there to go to it.
My son is in Ship 03 Div072. Trying to make arrangements for PIR. Know nothing about this area and what is safe. Not sure about driving in Chicago. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Not real sure about this area either. Maybe there is a group on here that has already been through PIR in the Great Lakes and can give us some advise. If I find anything I will post it here and please do the same if you find something out.
See my post about hotel we stayed at last year. It was very nice. Remember the RTC is not in Chicago itself and driving through Chicago was no more challenging than any other large city.
My son is in the same DIV and I booked my rooms at the Navy Lodge for 65.00 a night, it is only 1 1/2 mile from the base. Hope this helps u out....
