I feel much better after the phone call and can start planning ahead to PIR. Can't wait!!
we are over half way thru!!!! I am making the travel plans and am VERYexcited!! It is going to be so fun watching our SR and the night before when we all get to meet each other! I am sure there are alot more tears to come yet though :-(
I am excited that we are almost there!! I was reading in posts about parents wearing a colored scarf to PIR. I think that is a great idea to identify our division. If you are all in agreement with this idea, maybe we can all wear gold, since they wear that color in PIR. What you all think?
Hi All,
Finally got my phone call just now. I feel so much better! My son said that the div has some trouble makers that just won't listen so they get punished alot! He said 45 minutes of jumping jacks seems like forever! He said that they are getting mentored from div 908 and then they will be mentoring another 900 div soon. He said they probably won't get another call but to keep on sending letters. He was happy to hear that all travel arrangements have been made :)
My son said the same about how they are getting punished alot, and they are really hard on them. I pray that they will come together as a team and help each other out. My son also said that they will probably not be able to write much, but enjoys the letters. He was happy there was no snow yet!!
did you see our post about the ribbons? la la ribbo queen is a military mom does awsome ribbons .. a bunch of us have ordered them in gold with our div 911 on them.. you choose if you want proud mom/dad.. etc or SR name on the other side. What a cool idea to identify us a div and honor our SR.. check our her page..
she has FB page too unique memory makers or email her for info...
Thanks so much navymom88- You can advertise the ribbons here :-) It is fine for you to send people to me. The advertising rules can be a little confusing. You can talk about anything you find as long as you are not the one who sells it. And if you are the one who sells it you can talk about it and tell people about the items if they ask about them. Confusing I know, but it's all good :-)
I do have a question. I have several ribbon orders from this division and some have ordered Navy colored ribbons with gold letters and some have ordered gold colored ribbons with black letters. It sounds like you all may be wanting to be the same for your division which is fine. You guys can get whatever you want. Just let me know. I am adding a pic of each so you can see the difference and then you all can let me know if you want to all do the same thing or if you want each person to choose what they want. It is your choice what you and your family will wear.
The flag is added to each ribbon if the recruit/Sailor has family members who have served or are serving in any branch of the military. It is a way to show that the Sailor is not the first in the family to serve his/her country and a great way to honor those who have.
Since this is for the performing Division be sure and let me know if you recruit is in the band or choir and I will add a music note to each ribbon. The performing divisions are near and dear to my heart :-) My daughter sang in the Choir at bootcamp and it was so amazing. You all are going to love PIR.
