Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Any one with loved ones in this division yet? My daughter left Dec 12th. I haven't received a letter yet from her, but I was able to get the Information from the recruiter.

Hi again, wow, that trivia game was intense! lol.
Regarding the picture...I believe my daughter is just to the right of the center standing in the back. You can only see her nose on up, she is blocked by another girl with glasses on. But I think I can make out a slight smile :-)
It has been 8 years since my son went to boot, (and 30 since my husband went thru it) but I dont think a lot has changed. I also am friends with another mom who's son (a close friend of my daughters) just graduated boot the week before she went in so I can ask her any questions we all may need answered, so ask away moms!
Also, if you have any questions about Navy life in general, I can definitely help you there!

Its great to have someone experienced. I've had a lot of questions but between all the sites out there a lot have been answered. My son is the first in my family to join the military. On my husbands side his grandfather(my sons great grandfather) was in the Navy. Ha a lot has changed since his time in it for sure. We are proud of our SR but I miss him terribly. Even when he lived apart from us to go to the firefighting academy& then again for EMT. I would be able to talk or text him a lot. . I am a worrier for sure. It bothers me more with him being there thn it did when I knew he was going to go into a burning building. Its stupid I know.

awww no letter today, maybe tomorrow. From what I have gathered, they are not allowed to send or receive letters until they move to their "ship" which is usually between the 2nd and 3rd week. Once there, they can start sending letters every sunday, and can receive letters daily. This is their 3rd week so I really anticipate a letter this week.
I live just outside of Milwaukee which is about 41 miles (as the crow flies), or just over an hours drive from bootcamp. We have driven down several times to the base there, it is really nice and they have a great NEX! Our kids are in a state of the art facility for their training.
Regarding your first letter, don't be surprised if they write you and tell you their wisdom teeth were pulled! My son had two of his pulled while in boot, and I have no doubt that they will pull at least one of my daughters because her dentist recommended she do so according to x-rays. Anyway, they do this to prevent problems they forsee coming up down the road during a deployment. They give them two days SIQ (which is sick in quarters) and everyone continues on. lol
to momofsr03/071, your baby boy is in good hands, its normal, not stupid, to worry about him like that, but I promise you he is having the experience of a lifetime and bragging rights to some of the best stories ever told after graduation! He is not just making new friends, he is joining a life long family, all over the world, who will always have his back, even when he decides to leave the military someday. :-)

I believe from looking at the forums from the graduates on the 3rd,. are estimated date for getting letters would be the 5th (if it follows their pattern), but I don't know if the holidays messed with it or not.

No letter here as well. Grrrrrr. I know all that is true. He will make some great memories.
He's got a new family now as well. That's great. U can never have enough of those.
My son got his wisdom teeth removed in october or november. He didn't want to be sick there or weaker. His were all impacted so the healing time after going thru bone is more thn a couple days.
He didn't want to be in extra pain there. -

I hope my husband is making "friends". He has never been one to do so, everyone says that the friends they make in boot camp they will always remember, but he's probably older then most and already acts like a 50 year old man, I'll be surprised if he makes new friends. He worked with the same men for 4 years out of high school and never made friends with any of them, just the much older men that were in their 40's or 50's. I hope he is coping okay. =X I wonder what they made out of his teeth x-ray, he has a whole extra row of teeth behind his adult ones (runs in his family). He has had the same front one knocked out twice and its always grown back (weird I know) Hope they didn't pull his!

Wow wild teeth. I hope he didn't have to have the extras removed. My son is more of an old soul also. He just turned 21.
He is always a team player but only keeps a couple very close friends.
His younger brother (my youngest age 16)is friends with everyone plus their parents & cousins. I am sure the division is bonding. I think its a given usually. But heck what do I know, I'm new at this. -

Wow,. I'd hope they wouldn't pull them all! lol. My husband is going on 23 in a few months. Maybe they found each other?? lol someone with an "old soul" would be right up his ally. =)

I GOT 3 LETTERS TODAY!!!!!!!
Get this! I met the mailman at the mailbox today and she handed me junk mail, I said "thats it??" she said "yep, sorry" so I moped back into the house and got on here to tell you all no letter....then I ran a few errands, came home and got the newspaper out of the box, and for whatever crazy reason, I opened the mailbox door and holy cow there were three letters in there from my daughter!!!! I wanted to choke the mailman for doing that to me!!!!
Anyway, I read them all so fast, like a starving animal with a fresh bone. lol She said things were going good, but still crazy, they have the largest division, started with 113 and now it looks like they are down to 97 or so. She said some were getting tons of letters, I have written 4, and posted on her facebook page to give her address to any of her friends who requested it. So far 5 have so hopefully, letters from mom & dad wont be all she gets. ha
For the moms of girls, she said "people have already ripped 3 curtains that are used for the bathroom stalls so they cant use curtains....awkward!" LOL Bottom line, she's doing great and made a lot of friends. She said the RDC's are decent and "the yelling was not what I thought it would be, it's more like anger management on steroids." "Showers are 7 minutes long, that a ton of girls should never be put together." ha ha ha ha ha thats my girl.
Well, I just wanted to get on here and let you know the letters are on their way!! if you didnt get yours today, hopefully tomorrow!!!
