It only took two days? Wow that was fast lol. Glad he's doing great!

Emily, I left you a comment on your "My Page".

Received a letter yesterday! I'm so happy to hear he's doing well.

Every tuesday at 12 they do a trivia on the us navy recruit training command facebook page.....who ever answers fastest and correct wins a pic of whatever ship/div they want i hope everyone participates!!!!

Hi EmilyDanielle I receive a short letter from son on Friday 12/20 .He also left on 12/13.Ship12/Div074!

Hey! I think that was the same day I got mine too. I know they only get to write on Sundays so I'm hoping to get another one the same time this week. Hope your sailor is doing great, I'm sure he is! :)

Emily, thanks for the info that they only get to write on Sundays, that is good to know. I got a short letter last Friday that he wrote on the 26th.  So maybe I get another one next Friday.

Yeah my SR said the 26th was the only day they had to send letters but from then on they were only allowed Sundays. I'm hoping for something by Friday too! :)

My son flew out of Omaha (SHP 12 DIV 074).  I have received 2 letters from him. I received one last week and then one again this week.  They didn't start the real hard stuff until Dec 28th.  The letter I received today said he has wanted to come home a couple of times but has pushed through it.  I can't wait for graduation!

Looking for suggestions on Hotels for Graduation.  Anything with a graduation package or special that someone can recommend?

We are down to what...38 days?   How many of you are going for PIR?  I have already decided on the colors I am wearing; that would be Navy Blue & Khaki.  I chose those colors for a number of reasons. Navy blue is pretty obvious. Khaki is for my husband who is retired Navy Master Chief.  However, the junior enlisted now have a khaki shirt (back in the day, shirts were called blouses for both sexes) they wear with black trousers.  Our family will be attending Sarge's social on the 16th. We are flying in the evening of the 15th from Norfolk, VA, thru BWI.  We live just across the state line in NC and it sounds like there are a few of us from NC. Look forward to meeting you all!

Got a phone call from our son last evening.  He told us he won for having the shiniest (cleaned) boots!  He was pretty proud.  Maybe he actually was listening when my husband showed him how to shine his shoes when he was in high school - lol.  His award was a 20 min. phone call home.  It was good to hear from him.  Everything is going well and he said his unit was taking a test today and if a certain % passes then they all get a call home.  Here's hoping that you all get a call soon.
