Son left 12/5/11.  Just received the form letter.  He's Ship 12 Div 058. PIR 2/3/12.  Got a very short note saying the Petty Officers were killing them.  That was alarming, but then at the end, his usual sarcasm of "I'm alive so stop freaking out."  That made me feel much better.  Anyone else??????

Hi Lani,

Sorry been busy I'm under Army/Navymama. Did you get any mail today?

No, not today.  I figured we wont get anything until at least Thursday since the legal holiday was Monday. Did you see all the talk about wearing a scarf to PIR?  What do you think about green?  We were thinking white, but another division claimed it.  I thought green would stand out and our SR's would be able to see it easily.

Green sounds good to me!!!   Sorry does it matter if it's any particular color of green?

I am good with green!

I think any shade of green you can find. There's so many choices...olive, hunter, key lime, , christmas, etc. Whatever you can find.

Sorry Lani I was out of town at a funeral and hadn't been checking FB or N4Moms.  So is green our color for 57 & 58?  If so I need to share on my other site and we need to post it on that page that everyone is claiming their colors.  I hope several of us show up!!  How will we find each other at the meet and greets?  Should be wear the scarf there too?

I booked my hotela and wrote down my confimation numbers but didn't write the name of the hotel lol.  I will have to use mapquest again & see if I can remember it that way.  They didn't ask for my email so I guess they aren't sending a confimation that way.  We decided to rent a car so we are staying further away than we originally planned.  I think it is like Hawthorne Suites or something.  The rate was $79 for a King and $89 for two double beds.  It is a totally non smoking hotel.  My sister is coming with us.  Hopefully my husband will be able to arrange his work schedule to be there as well.  It can't get here soon enough for me.

I can't wait either! Another division claimed white so I say we claim green while it's still open. Agreed? Division 058 & 057 since we're brother divisions. I'll wear it the whole wknd so we can spot each other. I hope you remember the name of your hotel! I booked at the Navy Lodge. We rented a car also. My daughter & my mom are also going. Only 29 more days!

So sorry to hear about the funeral.  That must have been hard without your son there.

Ok. Green is the scarf color for Div 058 & 057 (brother divisions) for PIR.  Any shade of green you can find.  I will be yarn shopping to start crocheting. Please spread the word.  I will post the color on FB also.  The next time I write to my son, I'll tell him to get his division to tell their families.

Hi Lani,

Did you get my reply back? Green sounds great,my daughters favorite color.  I'm so excited and blessed to have met all of these great families for support along the way. Looking forward to life long Navy friends.

Yup I got it. I picked up some green yarn yesterday to crochet my scarf :)

We are in the process of moving to Montana and when we arrived to our new address there was one piece of mail in the box ... a letter from my son!   I was so excited I could hardly read it.   Can't wait to see him on 2/3  He seems to be doing well ... I sent off a letter today letting him know we will be wearing green so he can find us easier.   Thanks for coordinating Lani!  Well off to unpack some more boxes.   Love to all you beautiful NavyMoms!
