Any one with loved ones in this division yet? My daughter left Dec 12th. I haven't received a letter yet from her, but I was able to get the Information from the recruiter.

Eliza.... I sent my son a sort of fill in the blank questionair. That he filled out & gave lots of details. Haha I knew I would have to let him know what I wanted to know details about. I'm thinking of doing one again.
Details about PT & IT, food, clothing, people, what was the meanest thing he heard a drill instructor say, who do they use for an example of what not to do( there's one in every everything) I asked about what he liked about the academics as well as what he hated most there. I specifically put for breakfast I eat this____________________for dinner we have_________________ things like that. I get up everyday at (what time)________________ my. Typical day goes like this____________________________________________________________ he really answered everything with details.

Great idea! I'll send one of those today! Thanks.

Hi... I can't believe how quick everyone was with the trivia.  I came home for lunch just so I could try, boy I was way too slow.

Happy Anniversary Mrs. Reynolds!!!

Thanks for the letter update Tish! That was great that 2/3 passed the PFA test!! I think my SR will do fine on the PFA, just the folding could possibly be a problem for him  :)    I can't wait for Thursday for my letter and maybe a call!

We are driving from CT to Chicago, we decided to leave early and sight see on the way out there and get there early just in case the weather might be bad.  We are staying at the Gateway on base (my father is retired Navy and booked a room for them as well as us).  We are also planning on going to Sarge's meet and greet on Thursday. I can't wait to meet everyone!

Yea!!! Letters came. He sounds great!! He said something about being a yoeman or yeoman. Haha he's been one his whole life seeing as our last name is Yoe. Wht is it?
He was totally pumped in his letter.
BTW. My son asked for another form questions letter.
So what's a Yeoman in bootcamp? He won't be that for the rest of navy time so don't know why there. I guess that's one of my questions ill ask.

momofSR, my daughter wrote to me about being a yeoman as well.  what she described sounded a lot like adminstrative/secretarial tasks.  if you google yeoman, it confirms this.

I ended up googling yeoman in navy bootcamp. Ha it made me snort. My son is great helping people, motibating people & stuff like that. I wouldn't say office work or clerical book work was his strong suite
Hey everyone. I'm at work so I can't bring up facebook on our PCs just my phone. The greatlakes naval station posted photo tour photos today on their face book website. Can someone look at the recruit ones to see if its our division. I swear I recognized my son on my tiny 2 inch screen. Maybe wishful thinking.

I went searching for the greaklakes naval station FB website and I didnt see anywhere that had pictures, however, I found something else very disturbing from the chicago tribune at 3:15 stating a 19 year old boortcamp recruit died this morning at 10am. No names or cause of death released pending family notification. There was nothing at all on the RTC page about it, no one seems to know yet.

Div 070 are getting their phone calls today!

I also ran across the article. Made me cry. Scary to think that that is even a possibility there.

I am keeping my fingers crossed for a phone call today. If not ill settle for my letters :)

yes, my heart has been heavy for that SR and his family. My husband told me not to mention it to my daughter if/when she calls today, that they will tell them in the best manner possible for their situation.

on a lighter note, good luck to all of us that we receive a call today :-)

No letters for me today. :/ a phone call would be great, both phones by my side.
