Just received my letter with Ship and Division!

Hoping to hear from our SR soon. A phone call would be nice even a letter. My wife and I have not heard from him since New Years even though his girl friend and his cousins has received letters. Oh well counting the days to Feb 3.
Has anyone heard if their SR has past their fitness test?
I know when I talked to my SR, he had not taken the test...that was ages ago and it's done by now. I hope he passed. I asked him what would happen if he didn't pass PT and he said he would have to do extra PT work every day and re-do test. (or something like that!) He was worried about one aspect of the PT and I can't for the life of me remember what that was...and it's driving me nuts! Last letter I received was written on New Years Day....I have had no news since then. Sure hoping the mailbox has something today.
I imagine the next call to be the "I'm a Sailor" call.
I haven't heard from my son as far as a phone call yet in 2012. We have received letters, but no call. I believe their PT test was last Friday and I haven't heard whether he passed either. It would be nice to know!
I guess we are all in the same boat, I mean ship!
Yeah Buddy we are!!!! LOL!
Thanks FTLW. I know if he sets his mind to something that's it! I'm going to look up the flags and pennants discussion.
Haven't looked at that yet!
Denise....fingers crossed for letter for all of us today!s
Wow - I did just get a letter today, but it's very short and not much information. It was written January 5th, but one important detail is that "hell week" started on the 9th so that might explain the lack of communication (as far as phone calls). I also heard that if the kids didn't pass the PT test that they have to call their parents...does anyone know if that is true? Maybe no news is good news!
Got a letter today as well. YAY!Some Highlights:
Days covered in letter were Jan 3- 7.
SR gave me Week/Day update and they are at 4-3 today (12 Jan 12). They call Every Trash Can at RTC "Big Bertha".
Their cold weather gear keeps them very warm...."almost too warm". He's getting very good at shining boots.
"7 Guys in their compartment have Pink-eye", Not my SR..."Yet". "Looking forward to Marlinspike"
"Tuesday and Thursday" are letter writing days. Letters get mailed on Sundays.
Looks like the week they just went through was busy busy busy. (the last few days) Stuff this week includes Gun simulator, Marlinspike, Firefighting/Damage Control, etc.
This is just my SR's take on stuff and I'll take any little speck of info I can get!!!
He sounded good...oh and Said he thinks he is replaceing fat with muscle!! He was dying to know his current weight..they all are, but no scales available!
We got a lettter from our SR yesterday. Very short letter, he repeated about 5 times "I am very busy", I guess he is very busy. Apparntly our SR's are going through Hell Week this week. It is hard to believe only three weeks left.
Does anyone know how much time we get to spend with our " Sailors" after PIR ceremony? I understood that we only could spend Friday with him and he had to be back in the early evening? we fly home on Saturday at 2pm do you think they will get liberty on Saturday too? any information would be appreciated.. thankyou
