anywhere from a week to 2 weeks. You can call the recruiter for their temporary address but often they don't get their mail d/t the addy is wrong. They won't get any mail and you won't get a real letter for about 3 weeks.

ya'll...join the fgroups for your recruits job and A school. There is a lot of info there as well. Most recruits who left the week of Jan 9 have the grad date of March 2...but don't make any plans till you get the form letter.

how do I find that group?

here is the link...it that ends up not being you group no big deal just leave it and jion the next one...lots of info read the discussions.

thank you, I will check it out.

My son left Dec 12th. He called a couple days ago. We got his first letter 2 and half weeks ago. She's right. Shower & car are the best. I tear up driving back& forth to work. Just remember to keep telling yourself u raised a strong smart boy and this is what he wanted. He's doing what he wants to do in his adult life. Right now at bootcamp he's never loved u and home more thn he does right now and that's what is keeping him going right now.

momofSR....I was so crazy about making sure that he was getting letters that I would put a letter in the mail box on the way to work, drop one off at the post office before I got to work and drop one off on my way home. Once we had a HUGE snowstorm and I was not able to get out of my driveway so I walked up our STEEP hill (about had a heart attack) and put a letter in the box. Of course the mail carrier didn't make it by that day!!

Check out the face book page. Tuesdays try to win a photo of his division.
This site & that site are very comforting.
Haha yup I know the feeling. Then your SR writes and says to write more. Haha. I did the same about dropping it off at the post office. I would mail one from home, work& post office.

yeppers...the boot camp moms/wives have it rough.

Kimberly...my son loves it when I send him a fill in the blank letter. I write things like... For breakfast I east this_______________
My normal day consists of ________________________________
I get up at_______________________
What am I worried about there the most______________________________
All the stuff the guys don't put in the messages. I stick one in with his letters. Usually its full front and back and on some I leave lots of space for him to write in.
He asked for more of those when I send letters. Plus he was very detailed when filling it out. I asked some crazy questions.

Thanks for the suggestion. That is exactly what I need to do because I know he will not tell me these things I want to know without me asking. I am so anxious to get the form letter. I am hoping it comes tomorrow or at least this week. He left last Tuesday. I wish today wasn't a holiday!!
