Son left 12/5/11.  Just received the form letter.  He's Ship 12 Div 058. PIR 2/3/12.  Got a very short note saying the Petty Officers were killing them.  That was alarming, but then at the end, his usual sarcasm of "I'm alive so stop freaking out."  That made me feel much better.  Anyone else??????

me too, let's hope 12/058 wins!!

Its less than 3 weeks now ladies !  I'm so excited.  I'll be there trying to help us win a picture today.  Still haven't gotten a chance to find a green scarf but hopefully I can do that later this week.  I have tons of scarves but not one green one lol.  Probably from my dislike of green after wearing it over 10 years in the Army !  Hope to see you all up there... we're driving in a couple days early (Wed) and staying at the Navy Lodge.

I'm staying at the Navy Lodge also. Flying in Thurs am.

I'm also staying at the Navy Lodge. We are also arriving on Thursday are you going to the meet and greet with Sarge? Looking forward to meeting everyone.  My Mom was Army she retired after 22 yrs. Thank you for your service.

We're staying at the Navy Lodge as well! We'll be leaving two weeks from today, but we'll get there midday Thursday! I'm soooo excited!

Yes, we are going to Sarge's meet & greet. Anyone else? What are you guys doing after PIR?? Depends what my son wants but taking the train into Chicago is what I'm thinking.

Hi, has anyone heard from our SR's lately regarding their tests?  I'm wondering if everything is going okay with them.  I did get a letter last week, but no mention of any progress.

@ Phyllis I have not heard anything about there progress? I guess no news is good news I hope!!!

I haven't heard anything either. No letters yesterday....hopefully today. I wonder when we do Battlestations.

Hey ya'll, my son is in 057 but they are like brother divisions.  He said he aced the last test (I believe it was on Tuesday) and they did their 2nd physical test.  They also have had more inspections.  He and another section leader stayed up all night preparing for an inspection he says.  He thought both divisions were doing poorly but then they got some accolades so he said they weren't doing as poorly as he thought they were. I got letters today and another phone call yesterday because they made a 4.77 out of 5 on their inspection.  They have also had a marching drill.  He finished shooting early and got to go load magazines with his Gunner mates and they were listening to music.  He said it was like Christmas to get to hear music.  Hope this helps give ya'll a little bit of a picture of what is going on.  Oh and on MLK day they all got long showers and didn't have to fight for the shower heads because they got to spread out the shower taking.  He said the hot water felt good on the sore muscles.  He said more shots last Wednesday were scheduled but on the phone he didn't mention that so I'm not sure if that happened or not.

Thank you Deanna for the information it was helpful.

Any word on battle stations for our group?
