Any one with loved ones in this division yet? My daughter left Dec 12th. I haven't received a letter yet from her, but I was able to get the Information from the recruiter.

I was hoping to get a letter from my SR saying what colors/design their Div Flag was and maybe match that, but no such luck yet, lol, hoping for a letter today!!! having withdrawls!!!

We have a store by us that sells shirt. Long or short sleeve. They r the dark blue with gold our son on top. Us navy emblem in the middle.
With our hero under the emblem. They have my nephew or niece. Son or daughter. Grandson granddaughter. Aunt uncle. Every relative. I got a lot of shirts for family for xmas. We were thinking of wearing our hero shirts for PIR.

It is now 1/17/2012, JUST ONE MORE MONTH! I cannot express how proud I am and excited! 
Is it going to be warm where they graduate?? I saw the videos and I noticed they open up like a garage door looking thing to let the each division in. I Would like to wear a dress ( I never wear dresses but my husband loves it when I do) I just want to make sure its going to be appropriate, I don't want to freeze. If I can't wear a dress I had a navy blue hood made with Gold lettering on it for my Seabee and our last name on the front. Would rather wear my dress though =)

I was looking up the weather in Chicago for the last 3 years in February. It said it was between 14 and 28 degrees and a wind chill of - 4. so IDK if a dress is a good idea.

It's inside right?? I just am concerned as why it's not going to be somewhat warm inside. I'm bringing my 4 year old daughter,. and she is sure to complain. I don't want her to freeze =/. I know they open up those doors, is that why it gets cold in there?? I'm just curious if anyone else knows. Just seems odd to me they wouldn't keep it warm. Or is everyone just talking about outdoor weather?

I'm sorry. I didn't mean to imply it was going to be cold in the graduation room. I'm sure it will be nice in there. I was talking more about the walk from the car to the hall. I'm not looking forward to that, lol.

Ohhh it's okay! That's a relief, a few people have given me that impression, and I was really confused. I was thinking " oh gosh I love my husband, but I am not looking forward to sitting for hours in the freezing cold!" LOL I bought my daughter a really thick coat just in case. I'm used to the cold, upstate new york can be very fridged. We have had a really nice winter this year luckily and has only gotten 10 below a few times and haven't had alot of snow until just the past week. Great lakes weather is actually alot like what we are used to up here according to my husbands letters. Less then a month!!! It should pass so quickly now! So excited. =)

I've only heard one complaint about it being cold in the PIR hall, so I'm sure it's kept comfortable, plus with all those bodies packed in there it can't be that cold :-)  That's why they say dress in layers. I'm guessing he is going to be soooo excited to see you two that you could wear PJ's and he wouldnt care lol (just talking from experience ha) Maybe you can change real quick after graduation into your dress for when you go to dinner?

Hey All!!!!!! I got 5 letters today!!!!!! woo hoo! She also sent back the "form letter" I sent for fun and it was hysterical! She said she had fun filling it out too.  She said they are working on their Division flag and theirs is the Grimm Reaper. She believed they can order Tshirts with their "Reaper" on it and even asked us to send our sizes if we wanted one too.

She said things were getting better. She was promoted to E-2!!! which means she passed her PFA, her Dep test, and the RTC test. She is looking forward to Battlestations.  

Mrs.Reynolds, she said she knows your husband, he's quiet.

She gets her "music fix" when she goes to Dental or Medical lol

she mentioned that they knew of the SR that passed during PT but she didn't know any details. 

She has to pick her top three places she wants to go and what type of ship she would like to be on, and will possibly find out next week where she will go after school.

Hope you all get your letters today or tomorrow too!!!!!

OMG They might find out where they are getting stationed already?! I hope so because I am a person of planning and I didnt think we would know until he was almost out of A school. I WILL BE so thrilled just to know where I am going! So I can scope it out and see where it is, the schools for my daughter, all the shops, and if we will be able to just drive ((hoping for virginia but happy with any place in the US really)). Yay! Exciting news. And yes my husband is quiet unless you get to know him. He is calm cool and collective and takes intruction well for the most part so I figured this military thing would work out good for him =). Alot of his quietness has to do with being a little on the depressed side I think, his letters have been a little in the dumps. I'm glad your daughter is doing well =) she definately puts alot more detail into her letters then the boys seem to do. Thanks for sharing Tish!

mrs reynolds, unfortunately I believe you are right as to your husband not finding out where he is going until the end of A School because he has a job already. My daughter enlisted as undesignated because she was not crazy about the jobs that were open to her and wanted to wait and get a feel for whats out there before choosing. Plus, by enlisting undesignated she is supposed to be guaranteed her choice of first home port. They have everyone request their top three places and try to get them where they want to go though. The good news is Virginia is probably the easiest place to get stationed of them all. My husband didnt want Virginia and he told his detailer ANYWHERE BUT Virginia, and guess where they sent him? lol Norfolk Virginia. But thats where we met so it all worked out for him :-)

Virginia was fun, I loved the beach and boardwalk, but the taxes and city requirements were pretty high, we transferred to Jacksonville Florida from there and it was a whole new world! Better beaches, less taxes, gorgeous place!!! Housing right on the ocean but a long waiting list to get in. I believe Virginia was easier but we never lived in housing. Anywhere you go will be exciting and fun, and your military family will become as close to you as your own family and stay intouch with you forever. I have a ceramic wall hanging that says "Home is where the Navy sends you" I just love it!

Anyway, he can tell you all the places that are options for his job, and I would look all of those up individually as if thats where your going, then when he gets orders, you'll already know what to expect at any of them. :-)

I've read that for seabees there are usually only 3 bases,. little creek VA, gulfport Mississippi, and santa barbara Cali. I read many sites stating that,. and then i've read a few saying seabees can be stationed anywhere, at any base including some marine bases so i'm all kinds of confused, I guess I wont know until the time comes. I researched all three of the ones that are most likely, and i'm happy with any of the 3. I only wanted virginia so we could drive and my poor cats wouldnt have such a heart attack on a plane. I'm happy with california because my brother lives in san diego, but i'd really like to go to Mississippi the most. It's beautiful, and not as large so it won't be so overwhelming. You get alot more for your money there also (which I like because i'm a bargain shopper) I already have my favorite housings picked out for all 3 places LOL. Just helps to give a peace of mind knowing a little bit about the unknown.
