For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

I got a letter from my SR today! He said they won 4 flags in the last week and that they know what their division t-shirts are going to look like.he says he bought one for everyone.
He also said his orders got changed and he doesn't leave for A school until "scribble scribble scribble" Uggg I can't read what he's trying to say. lol deciphering my son's handwriting is like trying to crack a long lost encrypted language. Does anyone else in this division have a son going to A school with CNT as a job? have any clue what my son was trying to scribble down oh so illegibly?
He also said he got 2 ribbons on his uniform. Still no word on battlestations date though.

My SR has the worst handwriting although it has gotten better lately. My SR will be MC and says he thinks he ships out Monday after PIR.
He said he got a ribbon for "active duty" (They are in during an active conflict I believe is why and a medal as well.) and Something about a shooting ribbon. He ordered TShirts as well..I can't wait to see them!
Sounds like Your SR may eb there throughout the weekend?!

You two ladies just made my Sunday! Our SRs are together and doing good. When I spoke to mine last week he sounded a little bummed, but I guess that has all changed :).

Gayle my SR is PO of Laundry. I literally laughed so hard I cried when I found that out. i remember just trying to get him to pick up his laundry off of his bedroom floor. LOL I love that as a parent I get mine sometimes too. lol I hope he's ironing, I really do. lol because then I know that somebody besides me is telling him to do chores. hehehehe

It's all just amazing to me. They all made the right choice it seems! Mt SR got a call for good bed making ?! I don't think he had actually made a bed before...I was stunned (but happy to hear from him!) He is also a PO.
Not sure what these positions mean ultimately, but I'm sure it's helping them get through it...with Pride.

Gayle I love that! lol my son was one of those weird kids that would never sleep in a bed. I stopped fighting it when he was about 10 or so. I don't think he ever learned to make one before either. LOL

Angel, I'm sure they are all bummed from time to time. When my son left I told him, "Son there will be days when it will be hard and you will miss home but don't quit. I didn't raise a quitter and besides just remind yourself that what you are doing is amazing and that i believe in you. You can do this!" and I end every letter with , "Stay strong and be smart."
Even if you haven't said those specific words to your son, the fact that he's made it this far means he's doing well and you must be a great mom to have put that into him.

Nicely put Krspies......I know my guy has had his moments. They have too. What they are doing is one of the hardest things they have ever had to do. I know you wish you could hug him....but he KNOWS you are there with him, cheering him on.
