Little Creek is really nice, my favorite of the ones in Virginia. We knew a Seabee when we were stationed in Jacksonville, Florida. Gulfport would be fun, the Gulf is awesome, and it would be nice and warm all year round! :-)

THIS IS A DIVISION ALERT!  I need your help, there is a girl in our division that has not gotten 1 letter... Not 1!! It made me cry when my daughter told me. I can't image what she is going thru. My SR told her I was going to write her and she started crying. Just 1 letter from each of us and she will know how much she is appreciate. Please, This SR needs our help. Contact me for her name.

I tried to send you a message and it said we had to be "friends" first, so I friended you :-) I would love to send her a letter also. After all, she is now part of the family!

Hi all, I just started surfing around on this site. There is so much info. Easy to get lost in here. I've been using the Facebook page sense my son left. I understand there is a welcome reception being held the day before graduation. Does anyone know anything about this?

yes there is. I'm going to the one Serge's is having at the Sundance Saloon. The link is: http://www.navyformoms.com/events/pir-02-17-2012-sarge-s-meet-and-g.... I don't know when you'er SR is graduating but he holds the "meet and Greet" every week before PIR. Check out his web page and get in contact with him ASAP!!! he will give you great advice on how to prepare for PIR. Also this is the best web page to get information about Boot Camp.

Thanks a bunch!  I will be there, my son is heading to Florida after the PIR - and yours???

Thanks everyone for the quick replies! I can't believe I'll see my son again in less then a month. 2/17 can't come fast enough.

So excited,. I woke up to MORE letters in my mailbox. I wasn't expecting any until next week, so they must be writing on Tuesday and Thursdays like he said. My husband spoke alot about doing more physical activity which he was excited about because before he complained of boot camp being boring. He had to get fillings for the first time in his life. He's ready for it to be done and over with. Battlestations is on the 7th. Time should pass more quickly getting more mail =). 27 days away!

Hi everyone!  What a great way to end the week, I got letters yesterday and today!  I love the idea of the scarfs and ribbons, I will head out to Joann's next week to get the material to make them.  My SR said that he was doing good, he even got assigned a job, "dusting the ship", he goes around dusting the window sills, picture frames and doors.  Funny he never dusted a home, but he said it wasn't too bad!  He also surprised me in his letter, he said that he signed up for subs, which I find surprising since when he left he said he only wanted the carriers.  He can't wait for graduation so he can head to Charleston, South Carolina, he was supposed to be there for 18 months, but now he said he might be there for 12 months then to Balston Spa for 6 months.  I think that he is looking forward to that just to be closer to his friends, but not sure, can't wait to talk to him to find out.   He also wants to know our details plans for graduations, they must be all talking about that, we are driving and getting there early and will not leave till he flys out.  So good to get letters from him!!

@tucker2, can you please send me the SR name, I can't image not receiving any letters.  I try to write my SR every other day just so that he has one, plus I know his friends, cousins, aunts and grandparents are sending letters and sport scores.  Plus he worked for 3 months before he left at the elementary school in our town and they sent him pictures twice already.  Could you send me her name and I will get a card out this weekend.  Thanks for letting us know.
