Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

my husband arrived at great lakes on jan 17th. havent recieved his form letter yet so i am not sure what his pir date will be. cant wait to find out. i have been looking at the forums on here since he left and i just wanted to say thank you to everyone for all the wonderful info i have learned from here. i got his address from the recruiter yesterday and wouldnt have known to ask if i hadnt read it here. still havent had any phone calls or letters yet aside from when he arrived. miss him like crazy. hoping to make some friends on here who understand what i am going through. this is has been very difficult for me and for our daughter abby who is 9.

Hi There... I am pretty new as well to the boards. My daughter just arrived on Tuesday 1/24/12 and I am wondering how do you know the ship & division # if you didn't get a letter yet? Was it from the recruiter?

Yes I got it from the recruiter on Tuesday. 

 None March 23, 2012 per Recruit Training Command

  PIR: Mar 16, 2012           TG 18 - 14 Divisions (087–096, 807–808 & 918–919)

            PIR: Mar 09, 2012           TG 17 - 07 Divisions (081–086 & 917)

            PIR: Mar 02, 2012           TG 16 - 09 Divisions (075–080 & 914–916)

Note the Division numbers in parenthesis. These are the latest PIR groups formed (with clickable links). Best of luck to you all.
